We haven't seen any new heavy characters at all since the game was released. Though I understand that the popularity of assassin and hybrid characters can't be ignored, there is a glaring problem with the current roster. There are 6 assassin characters and 6 hybrid characters in the collectively in the Knight, Viking, and Samurai factions. With the recent announcement of the Wu Lin faction, came a Vanguard Class character, 2 Assassin Class characters, and what looks to be a Hybrid Class character. This leaves the Heavy Class characters vastly out numbered 8-3 when compared to Assassin Class characters. By not creating a new heavy character, I, like other Conqueror, Warlord, and Shugoki mains, feel isolated. At this point in the development of Wu Lin faction characters it is probably too late to include a Heavy character, but I am still holding out hope for the day a new Heavy character is announced. Ubisoft, I only ask that you sincerely answer this one question: When, if at all, will we see a new Heavy class character?
I could have sworn Ubi said the Jiang Jun was actually a heavy. That's the main reason i want to play him over the other characters. and i personally don't know if the staff wielder (forget his name) is going to be an assassin or a hybrid. it would make sense if he was that way the new faction had one of every type to start out.
Strange I was sure Shaolin was an assassin, not a hybrid.Originally Posted by DracoSafarius Go to original post
Ok, so, Eric and Roman haven't helped things because they both said assassin while the news page says hybrid. What I suspect is that the Shaolin has the traits of the assassin and vanguard and is more skewed towards assassin than other assassin hybrids and tat is what he feels closer to playing like. I did suspect that he would be the hybrid, tricky styles of play tend to be a hybrid thing with only the shinobi really coming close to their complexity.
While I agreee it might b nice to see more vanguards and heavies, I can see why Ubi have given each faction the same and wouldn't be surprised if we see another assassin and hybrid next, because there are people who only play their own faction and they wouldn't have wanted, say, the samurai all where is my assassin?
The For Honor Devs are making Assassin characters because they don't actually know how to balance any other kind of character. Never mind the fact that they can't properly balance a Heavy character without getting rid of their trait of being Slow but Powerful due to a certain game mechanic. But that's a gripe for another time.
