Mongol warriors are tricky to separate as a faction from the Chinese given their history of integration. Mongol heroes would be excellent as additional heroes to the Chinese.

The mongols founded Yuan dynasty in China and also fight with samurai and knight at that time. So that could work. But I just worry that "mongolian and chinese are all the same" theory could be not fine.
