Gladiators should be able to actually use their shield

I think it makes no sense that the gladiators have such a useless off-hand weapon. It's a shield but yet they still have the regular assassin block. All it's useful for is punching people, and if that's all the devs intended it to be, then they should've just given the gladiator a cestus (which is a spiked glove gladiators used) it fills the role of the current shield and it's more realistic, considering the shield is the size of a toilet paper roll. I also know gladiators Parma's were small, but not to that extent that it only covers the hand. Another cool off-hand weapon idea would be a net. But please change the current shield, it's so damn useless.

A buff to the block stance is kind of due for the Gladiator. I think it's coming sooner rather than later.

His zone should be nerfed before any kind of buff.

Gladiator's "shield", as you call it, is a buckler. A buckler wasn't primarily used for defense when in combat. It was used to secure your primary weapon's movements as well as the opponent's movements.

It's actually not a buckles. It's a Roman Parma, that's just the name it has in-game. Gladiators Parma's were just lighter shields but they still functioned in the same way regular ones do.

It's definitely a buckler. (it is too small to be a Roman Parma)
