I'd like to thank all of our members and the community for the support we've received over the years. It was a great run and there are no regrets. This is a personal decision, not a financial one. Unfortunately, my desire to build and play in Far Cry has been extinguished. I know many of you still have that desire, and I hope you continue to be creative and supportive of each other.
Thanks for the memories,
Greg (max)
PS - Ubi, you are so close and yet so far. It truly boggles the mind how you continue to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I hope that someone there eventually makes the game that everyone here wants, but I don't think you're capable. Thank you very much for Far Cry 2.
This is truly A sad moment......
You guys are the reason I have stuck with Far Cry for this many years. Holding onto the hope That Far Cry will return to the Greatness that Far Cry 2 Had. I feel like I'm the last of the Far Cry 2 generation to feel this way .
I Have so many memories , so many great times playing on your maps. Slaughtering gamers left , and right. Your maps brought out the Hardcore Competitive nature in alot of gamers.... Some I can call friends even My Brothers, and Sisters .....
I do not think that their will ever be another Far Cry to create such A close bond with so many gamers Like Far Cry 2 did. One of the best Far Cry Communties to ever be apart of.
I am very honored to have been apart of it with you guys on ( PS3) . Their are so many great map makers , and so many great gamers from that time. To many to type, but it was A wonderful ride together.
I think it may be time for all of us to move on.....
The Newer Far Cry's are so Random. No substance to Build A Community, their is no Connection.
I have no great memories, or moments with the Arcade . It is quite forgettable actually.
The only thing I will remember the most about Far Cry 5 , and the Arcade is how terrible it really was especially the Lobby , and All the stuff that they left out from Far Cry 2 .
Crytek paved the way , and Ubisoft slowly killed it.
Anyways.......
I just want to personally thank you guys for all your time , and hard work that you put into your maps. Also For bringing gamers together. Helping in building one of the best Far Cry Communities to ever be apart of....
You guys will be truly missed.....
LONG! LIVE! FAR CRY! 2!
Maybe you should consider waiting for that MP update they said. I remember all the maps I uploaded for FC4, FC3 and Trackmania are still there, I am sad that they will be gone now, also the great community you guys have. Anyhow, I wish you the best to whatever you pursue next, it has been a great journey. Many thanks good sir.
Shame to see a site go. But with UBISOFT track record. More less three strikes and your out UBISOFT! FAR CRY 3, 1 map private or stumble in a gold, silver, bronze lobbies and maybe get to see your map if your lucky. FAR CRY 4 had no multiplayer map editor. I only got FAR CRY 4 at the tail end on sale for like $15 or $20. Wasn't worth any more to me tinkering with a co-op editor. FAR CRY 5 has the best map editor to date yet the lobbies are a deal breaker besides no respawning vehicles.
Then holding back DLC assets like NAM VC ai bots and weapons and vehicles. If they delayed zombies or ray guns with either zombies or Mars dlc packs yeesh. Also 6vs6 is meh. I been preaching this long before the game was out. When you game a long time. Ya know what works and what doesn't. Also only two game modes for multiplayer is depressing to say the least. I'd be shocked if people pile back in here in droves to see FAR CRY 6. Even if we get the server browser and option to host and pick our maps as the host. Doubt they give us respawning vehicles. Also most of the community is flocking away.
This is now a very good time for Ubisoft to insert some more communication. Perhaps urgently. I see more and more valuable members of the mapping community bailing on this great editor because of some really big MP problems. Can you please give us more info on what is in store? Will you be making a return to far cry 2 lobby system in addition to your current one? If so what details can you give us? If we got to wait a month or two so you can properly test everything, that is fine with me at least. But we would greatly appreciate more info soon. I love building maps and I love most things about this editor and I am very grateful for it, but many great people are jumping ship... so more info would go a long ways to bringing those people back! Please and Thank you.
I'll check out your map, Scott. I still enjoy seeing the great maps that are being created. It's really difficult for me to shut the site down, but its time to go.Originally Posted by skinmysenses Go to original post
