Impossible to know if I was at the exact set of coordinates, since there was no available cell service. (I don't have a hand-held GPS device and followed the printouts of the map I had. Did look about since I read that maps and even GPS can be off by 15-20 meters.)
Being that this was private property, I took extra care to only have what could be perceived as "non-threatening" items on my person and in my car (i.e. no shovel or blades). The heel of my boot and the baton did a half-way decent job.
I'll leave it to others to go excavating that lot (and preferably on a day that's not 100 degrees)! (Hiding something on private property, though, is so risky and different from the previous easter eggs; that's why I'm wondering about different ideas re. the coordinates. . . . )
(Side note: a nice woman paid for my lunch on the way back! It was a good trip overall.)
chee, that's some good work getting out there. Sorry to see your trip was uneventful. Except the free lunch
I'd say you made the right choice not trespassing. Perhaps more coordinates will be revealed, and in time make a triangle we can pinpoint the center of...
As far as determining the property owner, the best I could do is locate phone numbers of clerical offices in Linn County, though I couldn't figure out anyway I would have described the parcel location to them.
When the beta drops I'm going to make sure to loomk out for any more co ordinates or things that could possibly relate to a riddle, I long for another EVO style riddle hunt. When the full game drops I am going to investigate any levels that have the eiffel tower in or near the level, Maybe even the level editor could be where to go, after all the box is meant to be hidden under the eiffel tower (whether that be in real life or whether that actually be a hint that the new game was going to be a world tour (which we now know) and to look there
