Devs Please add weather like rain or thunderstorm.

Just like the title says, the game world is pretty beautiful but it lacks of weather. i love how the dev reproduced Montana but it surely will add more atmosphere if there is random rain or thunderstorm in game. Dev please consider this (

Good luck with that. I have never understood why game development doesn't follow a strategy of improving on what has already been accomplished. Far Cry 2 had an excellent weather and interactive environment but that all went away with the inception of Far Cry 3 and has never appeared again. The weather would change and many elements would occur together (i.e., like wind and rain during the night). The day/night cycle was a hell of a lot more realistic, too. Far Cry 2 continues to be sorely missed by a lot of Far Cry fans in spite of all the negativity about its bugs (which easily could have been fixed).

Ubisoft did the same thing with another franchise (Silent Hunter). In this game, Silent Hunter 3 had very realistic submarine behavior, pitching and rolling with the ocean waves, storms, day/night, etc. Then with Silent Hunter 4 everything went south. The boat behaved more like a train locomotive on railroad tracks despite what the weather situation was at the time. Silent Hunter 3 was about German Uboats so all measurements were metric. Silent Hunter 4 was about the American submarine fleet in the Pacific. But initially all measurements were still metric instead of english. Who was asleep at the wheel for that to occur?

Why can't companies make something and simply improve on it while pursuing different story lines and locals? Wouldn't this save money while at the same time improving the product? Especially now that everything is an endless sequel or clone. It seems to me the developers are always hung up on starting over from scratch and reinventing the wheel. Is this an ego thing with them? Who knows but it has really made the excitement for new games suck big time.

I couldn't agree more. Instead of keeping and improving on good elements from previous titles of the franchise (yes, all the way back to FC2), they instead tone them down or simply remove them. Instead of FC5 feeling like a refined game with mature physics, animations, weapon/vehicle selection, weather and effects, it instead feels dumbed down, shallow and gutted by comparison IMO.

Fine for the masses I suppose but not enough to keep me interested anymore.

You are correct. But the weather system in FC3 is messed up. Day/night changes in roughly 10 minutes real time (FC2 takes about an hour). The weather changes are minimal at best. I suppose you could pretend you're in a climate where the weather doesn't change much (like California is always sunny). But if there is to be some variety at least make it believable.

....which was my point about how I view FC5 as a progression (or a degradation) of the franchise since FC2. Good components just seem to get dumbed down or removed with not much added that makes up for it.

I really liked FC2 but it needed some mechanics reworked. FC3 was good although missing some of the good elements from FC2. ....FC4 felt just like more of the same from FC3 but with less. It still had some of that FC formula in it to keep me entertained though. ....FC5 felt downright shallow to me by comparison.

I hate to see what FC6 will be like if they continue down this same development path.

They will not add rain or any other weather changings! Why so difficuly to understand that?! Not children, but don't want to think! Must be developers thought about it while making the game! But they decided not to do it. Why? Another question. May be it is connected somehow with Dunia Engine......or another reason.....I don't know. But they decided - "Let it be always sunny beautiful days!" Let's hope that in Far Cry 6 will be rains (different types), low and heavy clouds, fogs, mist, haze, winds, may be hurricanes! But Far Cry 5 = sunny, positive days! Nothing will be changed.

It's a bit like Apollo - they don't know how to get there any more. Eiher that or laziness, or can't be a$$ed to provide challenging games requiring skill and lateral thinking to make progress. Have you noticed how many dumbed down, dead easy games are coming out full of player directions? Most companies are scared to put out 'difficult' games because it might confuse players and it risks poor reveiws. Ah bless...

There's no logic in excluding weather from FC5. Then again, a lot of it is illogical anyhow.

Games are getting progressively cheaper code, hence less features, but the price tag stays high hence more profit!
We will be soon back to Commander Keen style gaming if this continues...
