From what I gathered, they realised how nonsensical it was, to see a skinny guy with just a sweater on, taking one or two magazines to kill. That is to say, there was a huge focus on realism around you, but then a skinny guy took ages to kill. Hence, they're apparently changing the approach. The Tanks will be much harder to kill, since they carry a lot of armour. On the other hand, light-armoured NPC's will be much easier to kill. Considering the fragile shooter vs. RPG balance, they seem to favour the shooter component a bit more, this time around, which is welcoming.
They talk about sponginess in this video.

There's plenty of ways to make it harder without overdoing the sponginess. We'll have to see how mechanics-heavy it is.Originally Posted by Merphee Go to original post
I noticed in some gameplay that the purple dudes with armour bars don't lose parts of their armour when shot. Rather their armour bar behaves like Div1 armour, like an additional health bar.
Not saying it's bad but I thought when I saw the fight with the armoured elite NPC, that NPCs with an armour bar might show armour destruction in game.
When you kill an enemy it sounds like a coin dropping?
Once you notice it, its quite annoying to hear repeatedly.
