I Would that its a Openworld Global Map and they ad that we can create our own Pirate Captain with uploading own Pirate Flag Logo. That we can Build Base Hideout and Hide some Chest with Gold on the Open World and Fight with other Ship to get their Gold. Also Fighting on Land make some Quests and fighting on the Ship. What i saw on E3 its jutst a Video that show auto if you won or lost but real fighting on the ship not realy just with canons on distance. Fine is also to create a Crew an everyone can join to your crew and you start as a pirate and after you have enough xp you grow up to a Pirate Captain. And you can add your Crew to the real global Fighting Pirates or Gallions. Queen Ottomans Spanis Portogues Italian African France Egypt.... on one Globale Map and conquer land with other Pirate Crews
You can create your own Clan base with other users they joining to your crew. That makes more sense and fighting on land ship with sword canons and many more. Sea Monsters Quests and and and... @ubisoft you have so many things that you can create now in this game. You have 1 Year time and you can add this incl. a Open World Global Map also.
England, Ottoman, Portuguese Italian Spanish African France Egypt... Crews can join the fraction and conquer landscapes with other Pirate Crews.
Thats what i would see in a game. Making also Quests and treasure with my Gold i Hide on some Island and find some other treasure from other Crews. Sea Monsters and and and...
That we can also go to the Land and Fight with other Pirates attack the hideouts go to the Pirate Pub and brothel....
I think there's still a LOT for us to see from this game at the future, I believe this year what they likely wanted to focus on was that there's more depth to the game than just multiplayer PvP modes. So they showed us more of the shared world experience, gave a bit more info on the Hunting Grounds etc.
Boarding like Black Flag would not work in this game and would be too easy to exploit in PvP combat from both sides. If it granted your ship invulnerability while in PvP it could mean that you could just sit on an enemy ship 'boarding' it if you were outnumbered until your opponents gave up. If it didn't grant your ship invulnerability you could be stuck in a tense boarding battle while other opponents destroyed your ship. The way they have boarding at the moment is in keeping with the flow and speed of the gameplay and I don't see a problem with it.
As for island exploration, like I said we haven't seen everything yet. At the same time, assume nothing, we only know what they show us and it's best not to get your hopes up for a mechanic that may never be in the game. We just don't know.
yeah I see what you mean there but not putting manual boarding in a mutliplayer game simply because it can be "exploited" is just an excuse...theres lots of solutions they could come up with...they cant just leave it off like thatOriginally Posted by Stainless001 Go to original post
Sure they can.Originally Posted by DeeK_KayE Go to original post
That's actually what they're doing, so apparently they can.
I've babbled about it at length elsewhere enough already, but the gist of it is that manual boarding would require developing an entire parallel combat system for hand-to-hand combat. Black Flag's hand to hand combat was bad and completely unusable for multiplayer, so they would have to come up with something from the ground up, and if it wasn't stellar then it would have the potential to torpedo the whole game.
As Stainless mentioned, manual boarding would significantly disrupt the action in a multiple-player situation and there's no good solution to the "invulnerability vs. vulnerability" issue. Heck, I'm already scratching my head just at what happens during the cutscene in a multiple-player situation. Are you just completely vulnerable during the cutscene so that enemies can blow you to smithereens with impunity? I don't know.
What I do know is that by the time you're boarding, that particular battle is a forgone conclusion. I actually didn't care for boarding in Black Flag because it felt like busy work having to go through the tedium of an already-decided melee every time I rolled up and vaporized a schooner or something. I'm a big fan of cutting out the busy work, and I'm a big fan of keeping the devs' resources and the game itself focused on its strengths and its core identity, rather than diluting it with every little bit and bob.
yeah well if you dont want to board then just shoot the ship to death like in black flag right? and how do you know that the devs are working on a manual boarding?Originally Posted by Flawbringer Go to original post
