    Feelings!

So I am having mixed feelings about The Division 2. On one hand I am excited, especially after the gameplay that had been shown. On the other hand though, I don't feel like I am ready to leave New York behind. Honestly I never felt they needed to build a whole new game to expand on this. I felt a more episodic approach would be better. In the first game you are a response team to a crisis in New York. It would have been awesome if they had continued the story from there, using your same character. Maybe chasing Keener to stop him from doing more damage with the dollar flu, or having to help with a cure. This kind of feels like a cash grab while also wiping out all of the in game progress made to save New York. I don't know. I'll still play it, but it kind of feels like a betrayal.

Dont know when you started playing TD1 but the game will be 3yo when the sequel launches....... maybe youre the type of player that enjoys replaying the same stuff over and over but I bet most ppl with 2000+ hrs have gotten what they can out of the first one.

As for an episodic approach..... that would have been cool if theyd got the foundations for the first game done properly..... as it is there are more than a few post pointing out its faults. Thats not to say its a bad game its not..... its among my most fav 3 games Ive ever played but even its most earnest fan would be hard pressed to defend these flaws. That said building a house on bad foundations is bad enough.... but you wouldnt build extension to it if you had.

I think most ppl have enjoyed their time with TD1 and those that havent have a chance now to move on and see what the dev team can do in terms of addressing the deficiencies of their first effort and its subsequent mismatched patching.

Still, any issues they have can just be patched. This is honestly a cash grab. Just lookat FF14, terrible game the first time they launched it, but Square didn't make a new game, they took it back, fixed it and had one of the most successful mmo launches ever.

I think you missed the memo that said that some issues couldnt be fixed and where due to the way the engine was coded. Ergo if you believe them they would have had to code / update the old engine and then migrate TD1 to that engine. Seems alot of heartache for little return when they can upgrade the engine, make a new game that irons out the design flaws of the original and hope to balance stuff out alot more.

You dont have to agree with it but 60$ or whatever it is over 3 or so years - (2 for me) is a healthy invest for entertainment. Where else you gona get that? I have to spend about 15-20£ to go watch a film in the cinema and that last 1-3hrs.
