[New player] Can't believe I missed this...

As the title says, I can't believe I missed out on this game until now... o_O

I know you can, and are supposed to, play this game in your own way, and that you don't have to be all stealthy and tactical out there, even though it's a Ghost Recon title. But being able to simulate (you know, somewhat, at least) special warfare operations in a contemporary setting, that is -not- Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, or any other central Asian desert theater, space (?!), or any real place, but then, obviously, set after "the apocalypse" and/or riddled with some form of "zombies" or "modern communist forces" - and at the same time not being forced to choose between being locked down into a super-linear action packed campaign ride, or to sacrifice all the enjoyment while struggling with stupid micro managing added "for realism" instead of playing - simply brilliant Ubisoft! Much love.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi to the community! So, Hi! ^w^

Hi Nobledagger. I'm curious, had you not heard of Wildlands or was it just that you didn't feel like buying it?

    Me too

When this game came out I thought I would pass as not a fan of 3rd person games but picked it up in the humble sale.

I'm hooked. It's just beautiful. Yes it is repetitive but how you do it is upto you. Playing with friends makes it so fun even when things go south.

Yeah, I was sold on the game during development. Glad you guys found it even at this late stage. ....co-op is definitely one of the best parts about it and is a real blast if you can find folks who like to play the way you do.

Interesting about the TPV opinion. I was never a big fan either especially when I was still a PC gamer. I think that all changed when I got into consoles with the PS3 and then eventually the PS4. ....now I can appreciate both depending on the scenario.

When GR2 came out for the Xbox I spent a while looking for the FPV setting. I couldn't quite believe it was OTS and had no soul swapping!

I prefer each in its scenario too. Faster games like Battlefield and CoD are OK with FPV for me and R6 Siege with its CQB setting would be a nightmare on TPV. I think bigger open spaces with slower gameplay and a recon element are suited to TPV, but other than adversarial multiplayer I think players should be free to pick either view.

Well, I guess there's a mixed bag of why's. But long story short, my life got kinda complicated a while back. So for the past 5 or 6 years, I've been more or less cut off from not only gaming, with all the gaming industry news, upcoming releases, and so on, but from pretty much everything. To sum it up, back in 2012 I switch off my, then very current gen, Xbox 360 after a game of MW2 (most likely), then these complications goes into effect, and I'm basically in the dark until early 2017.

So I think when I first heard about it, I just didn't connect the dots as gaming wasn't at the top of my list of priorities, or something. Then the first gaming / modern tech / normal thing I stumble across after the dust settles is Overwatch, so I put together a decent PC and play Overwatch until I find out about the upcoming Xbox One X and pre-order one, and like the whole 2018 so far have been an endless string of mind blown - 4K, VR, "Halo 5?! OMG, so there's a Halo 4??", "what do you mean, 'do I have Snapchat?', what's..?", you probably get the point. o_O
