People here shout from the rooftops that The Division should cater for the majority.

The majority apparently don’t want nor do they partake in PK.

As such, they don’t care nor do they partake in the ‘meta’.

As a consequence, the ‘meta’ is largely irrelevant and therefore the inclusion of classified sets, or not, as the case may be, is a moot point.

Obviously include them, the more the merrier. More choice is more options for a more varied playstyle/gaming experience when delving into the PvE aspects of the game.

Or is your question addressed solely to the PvP contingent of the forums?
    Both PvE and PvP.

Some argue that even in PvE, Striker beats all. Although that might be true, there really isn't anything in PvE that gives any gear set a challenge because no matter what you're wearing, you can spec your butt off into EAD and DTE. Deadeye and Sentry are the rivaling DPS builds for PvE, it's just that you have to take into account your health with those two much more than you need to do when running Striker. So maybe, in the end, Striker is just more convenient.

Not sure what you mean by PK, but the majority here do participate in PvP, Just not in The Division. Will gladly participate in PvP if they can adjust it to a reasonable facsimile to actual shooter like play. Running around chicken dancing in melee range is not my idea or preference as a shooter. Combined with the ridiculous TTK, and it's all over for me, there lots of great PvP shooter games and this is not on the list.

    Exactly.

Referring specifically to the DZ, most people make the erroneous assumption that it caters for PvP/forces people to PvP.

People seem unwilling and/or unable to grasp the distinction between PvP and PK.

    PvP is consensual.

    PK is not.

Granted, there are instances where players meet up in the DZ and consensual PvP battles take place amongst a group of people.

That is however not what the DZ caters for: The DZ is a Player-Kill arena.

If one is unable or unwilling to grasp the distinction then further debate as to the fundamentals is an exercise in blissfully ignorant futility.

Let most of the community tell it, they want a general loadout where only stick skills matter. No different gearsets, no different weapons, nothing.

I personally want the classifieds to be the only gearsets in TD2. I want a lot more options though that are all equally powerful at what they're supposed to do. I don't want to see 3 superior builds.

What’s the bet they take a leaf out of Battlefield’s playbook and introduce classes, ie Grenadier, Medic, Shotgunner and Rifleman or the like. That way we no longer have gearsets but a whole new avenue of items within a class to grind for.

I noticed that their poster at E3 shows three agents who each has a backpack dedicated to their weapon system.
Has me suspecting classes and day one PvP competitiveness.

Classified gearsets eventualy ruined the game, especialy the 6 pieces. Do not want them in D2

Classified gear sets made everything else irrelevant. Including exotics. It killed the build diversity that we had in update 1.6.1. (High end, Hex, Ninjabike builds, etc)
The implementation of classified gear sets was to give us an artificial sense of progression and power instead of giving us level increase. (gear score). It was flawed. It created more problems with balancing and loot. It messed up the economy of the game.
    I'm with this guy.

If they re-introduce Gear Scores and World Tiers, just make it so we can use optimization to optimize something into the next Gear Score, even if it's costly, just the idea of knowing you'll get one of your favorite items back in the next World Tier/GS is satisfying.

Even in the 1-30 I hated that every single thing you pick up is junk a few minutes later.
