So I bout Far Cry 5 on steam. Cool! Got the preorder bonus, all fine
Then yesterday I bout the seaon pass, and activated it on my uPlay account (linked to steam) this is what i've done with all my Ubisoft games (division, Siege, Far Cry 4 etc)
However I can not at all find the DLC Hours of Darkness. I looked in my Games section, and under my Far Cry 5 it has the season pass and the Hours of Darkness DLC and I can view the keys
I go into Far Cry 5 and no button for "Add on Content"
I click on the Far Cry 5 button on the launcher and it doesn't have a "DLC" section to manually download it
So what gives? Is it because I linked the DLC and season pass to the Ubisoft launcher and not the steam launcher that now I'm screwed?
Seriously !
How many morons will do the same mistake!
You can not mix Steam base game with Season pass DLCs from Uplay
That is due to Steam DRM and they file management system
If you got the DLC from Ubi store , you better ask for refund, if not , you screwed cause other sites do not do refunds

Love the name calling! Thanks!Originally Posted by KmarkoPL Go to original post
However your point is moot, as I have Rainbow Six Siege and Far Cry 4 through steam and activated ALL my DLC through the uPlay game launcher and everything works out just fine. Seasons 1 through 3 work on Siege and all the little DLC bits for Far Cry 4 work just fine.
I bought the Division on steam, and activated the DLC on the uPlay launcher. Everything checks out
Hey poodlemeister22, it may work for some games, but in general it isn't recommended and is probably the cause of this issue. You can get a refund if you purchased it through us by create a ticket
Where is this info posted by Ubisoft? Is there in fact a link which states the above for the benefit of anyone who has different previous experiences, such as the op?Originally Posted by KmarkoPL Go to original post
Does Ubisoft have this "it isn't recommended" posted anywhere? Thanks.Originally Posted by ubi--unicorn Go to original post

Okay so...here's the deal
Figured that you're right, my experience is based on stuff that worked, and the stuff I was mentioning made sense, not compatible with newer games. Makes sense. So on a limb I decide "I'll get another seaon pass and try to activate it on steam only"
Well, now I have a completely useless season pass code because steam says it's invalid, even though I'm directly copy and pasting into their little add game section thingie (I know, that's a steam support item, but I figure I'll lay it all out here)
So, what gives? I'm assuming steam doesn't recognize the new code because I technically already have it? Or is Amazon just being a **** at this point and giving out false keys?
UPDATE: Okay, so I gave in. Had to buy a THIRD season pass, directly through steam. Now it works.
You know, Ubisoft, I don't understand the whole point behind not allowing DLC to be activated across platforms like that (steam to uPlay, or uPlay to steam, etc) since the accounts are linked, everything should be fine. I'd love to hear a reason as to why you want to block this, otherwise it just is a super consumer unfriendly stance.
So, I'm not going to ask for my 29.99x2 back, but I'm just saying, fix this. Either open up the DLC activation or clearly state on your games that DLC bought in other platforms is incompatible. It's kinda ridiculous. Even Origin (blech) allows steam keys to work, and you can buy DLC through Origin for those steam games. There's no reason you can't do the same.
