p.s the parrying system never nearly killed the game, find your facts first. do you think their job is easy, you have never worked with software or programming have you otherwise you would understand.Originally Posted by Specialkha Go to original post
Look, I get the games complex and patches take time and they don’t wanna break anything with releasing them, and usually when any game company releases a patch there is still something that breaks in game. Star Wars BF2 is the first example that pops into my head. The team behind that game is a lot more experienced in that field (shooter/bf style game) than Ubi currently is in the fighting game scene, but when they released title updates and patches they introduced game breaking bugs such as the exploding shot glitch, completely breaking Darth Mauls saber throw so it would never connect, so on and so forth. So it shows that even when teams are experienced and take their time, issues still arise and that they can’t be perfect 100% of the time. I’m trying to cut Ubisoft some slack because of this, but when there have been sound bugs in the game for nearly 2 seasons now such as the minions in Dominion having the Halloween event battle crys and Wardens Blackstone Bash sound still been bugged, that’s when I start to get a little annoyed. 2 seasons is a long time to fix a sound bug, no matter which way you look at it.
What other devs? ooWhile others devs team on others companies are faster to patch stuff up and it still does not break the game.
So? are they THAT incompetent? Especially while a lot of things that got patched are numbers tuned up or down.
Let's say...Overwatch. It takes 1,5 year for them to understand that Symmetra is NOT support (and never had been). They need 6 months to remove multiple pick from quick plays.
Look at Destiny 2. Some very needed thing will come there september 4th of 2018. With new Season Pass needed.=)
Come on, the "other devs" do not exist.
You can't denied, that For Honor now way better, than in was a year ago. Yes, it's still need improvments, but what multiplayer game don't?
Elite Dangerous says hello. If you want to see balance patches literally seperated by a year (or years plural) go check that game out, it makes For Honor's patches look like they're going at hyper speed. If you're determined to find other games with slower balance patch cycles you always canOriginally Posted by Specialkha Go to original post![]()
Outside of having a larger certification process for Arena, For Honor generally has patches once a month. Some issues are more complex than others maybe like how do we balance centurion in 4v4 without breaking him in 1v1 and in terms of the parry changes they took their changes to the community to test and pretty much everything about parry got rejected, quite a few of the reasons for which being very short sighted, but the patch rate is high. When devs are largely told no over something they have the wider player base test they either push through or have to spend time starting again and what we got was something they were not a fan of in terms of a free heavy off light parries when part of the original objective was they didn't want a free heavy to come off of parries at all.
The whole defensive meta stuff also highlights why they are wise to keep things under their hat until they have something definite locked in because they had several people here spamming threads almost daily between them at one point demanding that changes, which the player base at large had rejected, go into the game in the next patch.
It's a double-edged sword really. The devs are getting WAAY too much stick about the pace of getting major updates out, people have to realize you can't rush things like this and expect quality.
On the other hand tho, people on these forums are all customers who paid for a product that i think we can all agree on was a huge mess on release and they have every right to criticize and point out their conserns here.
I have high hopes for the E3 reveal, it's impossible to not notice that the devs really care about this game and while i can think of a lot of major companies that would have bailed out a long time ago, they're still working hard.
Im expecting greatness this year.
On last Den Eric said, that E3 news will be address for new players and old players both. So, while I sceptical about announcement that could bring back old players, pleased current players and appeal new players at the same time, I really hope devs could do it.I have high hopes for the E3 reveal, it's impossible to not notice that the devs really care about this game and while i can think of a lot of major companies that would have bailed out a long time ago, they're still working hard.
When you still see day 1 bugs in every aspect : sounds, inputs ( zone attack into slow top heavy at warden, anyone?) BALANCE (i won't even start a nuclear war here ) ... you KNOW the devs are totaly incompetent compared to the other titles !
They are always going like "we are working so hard, this game is so complex and hard" .... c'mon. let's cut the crap ... hire better developers, RETURN the respect to the lost players (which in my opinion they got robbed by a total unprepared game without dedicated etc. in the begining) ...
And YES ... AS A TRUE GAMER i will always compared companies and games ...that's how progress is made, that's how lowbies, unprepared and money grabbing companies are sorted out by TRUE gamers.

This i can agree on. Gaming business is a business like every other, they're against competition and they WILL get compared.
Still, people have to use common sense, comparing For Honor to Tekken for example is basically the same thing as comparing Siege to Overwatch (which happens very damn often for some reason). Yeah they're both shooters but that's pretty much all they have in common...
