Ideally revive should be removed all together unless your team is breaking but with revives still here I don’t think that’s going to happen. My idea for a change is give a player full health but half of your health is bleed damage and they only have 1 revive per respawn and if they die again after being revived they have a 20 second penalty added on top of other penalties. A player can choose however to stay dead and respawn giving them there 2 revive chances back and not face the penalty. Obviously the only way to reverse the bleed is through the usual ways of either execution, healing in a zone, or healing feat. Not only would it add some realism to a revive but put a player at risk and could make the player be more cautious about jumping into a fight.
The state of how revives is I feel has gone on long enough and is quite annoying when in ganking situation and is not fair to the player fighting off multiple opponents only for them to be revived at full health while you are sitting with little to no health. Being revived I feel is to strong and needs a nerf.
I do agree that revived teammates shouldn't come back with full health.
But I would just decrease it to 50% health on the first revive, then 25% on the second and no third, all without any bleed.
Adding 20s of extra penalty is a REALLY BAD idea. That would essentially penalize team play, which is not a good thing.
That being said, I would even suggest decreasing respawn timers dramatically across the board. I'm talking 5 seconds + 3 seconds for executions.
I've just started playing BF1 and the game allows you to respawn within like 5 seconds, and for me, that is a HUGE difference. Being killed is far less frustrating, because you can just hop straight back into the action. In FH with how quickly you are killed plus how long you have to wait to respawn, there is a good chance, you will spend more time in the respawn screen, than on the battlefield... Which is sh!te.
Also shortening the respawn timers could potentially help fix the ganking problem, because opponents are not drip-fed to the gank-ball as much, because they can respawn much more quickly, wich allows them to regroup more easily, without having to wait so long.
