Random MASSIVE framerate drops (from 80 to 5 fps...)

Happens in Far Cry 5 Campaign, Arcade and Vietnam Add On:

For no apparent reason the frame rate drops massively from a solid 80 - 90 fps to 5-6 fps. (WQHD)
Sometimes every other minute, sometimes not quite as frequent. Sound is not affected at all.

As soon I hit the *Esc* key to menu and *Esc* again back to game, frame rate is normal and smooth again.
Until a couple of minutes later, or sooner, when it slows down again.
And no matter if in WQHD, 4K or FHD (with or without external monitor)
(The slow framerate remains until *Esc* is pressed)

I DON'T THINK THIS IS THE AUTO SAVE BUG!
There is no save indicator visible, when it occurs. And why would the game auto save in Arcade?

I tried the suggestions from Ubi support (delete temps, modified start up ...etc. to no avail)
Win 10 and all drivers are the latest and my Notebook is in top shape.

This happens only with Far Cry 5, other titles, such as hardware hungry battlefield 1 run supersmoothly.

Can't remember any troubles with FC5 when game was released. It ran well back then.

    HP Omen X Notebook.
    Win 10
    i7
    GTX 1080 8GB
    2TB SSD
    1TB HDD

    Any help is appreciated!

Hey ErbsBischof, I recommend trying any of these steps that you haven't tried yet. If that doesn't work, can you PM me your ticket number?

Temporary framerate drops disappear when V-Sync is enabled in game video settings. All smooth again.
    Huh...interesting...
