There is no doubt that Far Cry 5 is indeed a great installment to this franchise. But there are a few things that need to be changed or rather need to have a refreshed look.
1. Gun play: If there is one thing in FC5 that feels very similar to previous games is the gun play. Although smooth and crisp as always, it is time to add in a few stuff into it. Here is what it would like to see in gun play in the future:
> 360 character movement - Like Max Payne 3 or Siege or even Battlefield V, i think FC needs this. It will open up so much more possibilities of unique gun play moments. Lunge in any direction and then swivel on the ground in any direction.
> Prone - Dont know why this is not in the game still. A Prone feaure will create stealt approaches like hiding under trucks and what not.
> Dual wield: A game like FC definitely needs dual wielding, at least with handguns.
2. A different introduction to the game in terms of gameplay: FC intros are great. There is nothing to take aay from that, but for the oast 3 FC games, we have fleeing from the main viallin with bunch of enemies trying to hunt us down. This point excludes Primal. Myabe, it is time for a new intro. Maybe instead of making the player feel vulnerable, make the player powerful with an action packed intro giving the player opportunities to shoot and blast his way through. And then create a twist and take all away from the player. Make the player crave for the loss.
3. More involved protagonist: It always feels the protagonists in FC games are always introvert and not keen on agression. It will be good to have a hero with a bit more dialogie and more involvement in the story verbally.
4. Weapon attachment switch on the fly: I think in FC this will be very helpful. Out of the weapons the player chooses to carry with him/her, the attachments can be switched on the fly, like Crysis. Switching in and out of stealth via a supressor or switching range sats via various scopes. It will be a nice touch. To make it interesting, it can be locked behind a skill upgrade for sure.
These are my ideas so far. If anything else come up I will add here for sure.
And.....to be vulnerable - is very important in the game! The less vulnerable you are - the less challenge. The less challenge - the less excitement.....less adrenaline. The highest invulnerability - is God mode. No one and nothing can kill you. But is it a game? Pornography - in the worst sense! To be vulnerable - is very important. When you are vulnerable you are staying up, on the alert, blood runs faster through the veins, pulse quickens, heart beats.......when you are vulnerable - you feel more alive!
