Glock makes some good weapons that certainly deserve the praise they get for their function, dependability, etc. I still remember the "plastic gun" stigma from the 80s and I can't say that I was immune from it. I fired a couple myself back then and recall that I wasn't overly impressed with the feel or aesthetics although I could appreciate the functional design aspects. Guess I'm just kinda old school. That's not to say I would never own Glock or a polymer gun though especially as there are a lot of good ones to choose from these days including Glock.

Having said that, as popular as they are, I don't understand why they were not included in more games unless it's a licensing thing.

.....btw, I'm a 1911 owner / enthusiast myself. Kinda carries over to games as that's usually my sidearm of choice simply due to sentimental reasons.

Glock is a specific case in terms of copyright. Unlike most other manufacturers who just copyrighted the names of their guns, Glock copyrighted the shape of their guns. At least, that's the way I heard it, anyway.

I don't doubt the quality of Glock pistols, but I've come to dislike the attitude of the company itself after the literal hissy fit they threw over losing the MHS selection to SIG. Even Beretta, despite their earlier lobbying attempts to keep the M9 in service or replace it with the M9A3, bowed out with integrity after being eliminated. Glock, on the other hand, went on a year-long tirade with accusations of bias, testing not being completed, the contest being rigged, and so on. It was really pathetic.

Yeah, I remember reading about some of the candidates but really didn't follow the selection process. That's interesting about how Glock handled the rejection.

The presence of one would be even more disturbing because no one has ever actually used that thing in a real operation.

Having them in inventory and shooters actually using them is not the same thing.

I'm all in favor of a Glock. I'd prefer a .45 cal version over a 9mm version, but anything is better than the G18.
