    Zerker - genuine counter advice needed

    Ok, so I am a rep 150 player and thought I was decent at the game until now. The only hero I am having serious trouble with is Zerker and I need concrete advice on how best to play against him please from the regular crowd on here.
    I’ve done the whole arena thing for hours but the final straw came when a rep 11 just destroyedme.
    I play mostly in 4’s so good spacing isn’t always an option.
    I personally feel Zerker is op but I know statements such as this are frowned upon so please, let’s have your advice instead;
    (Let’s use Kensei as an example since he’s decent)
    How would you approach a Zerker fight with Kensei? Il

    Just to add;
    Zerker is the only hero whom when I play against I feel that I’m losing not against the player but the hero. I lost at the hero selection screen.
    His HA is a get out of jail free card vs almost everything, the risk reward balance is severely tilted in this guys favour.

    Ive been playing orochi most of S5 and it was unbearable no matter if it was rep 50 or pres 1... Now I light spam and riptide the ssssugar out of him and every time I kill a zerker I think to myself take that you pos mofo…. I hate light spam but for now I am enjoying beating some zerks an even amount of time. A good one with feints can get ugly quick but....SPAM.

    That's right - never drive in the same car with a madman

    I hear you, I do try and sneak in some top lights/zone to slow him down but good Zerkers parry that then continue their feint chain until in either dizzy or dead. Zerker is just too good.
    I feel the Orochi rework was pretty lazy but I can’t deny you Orochi mains a little payback so good luck to you!

    That’s good advice. In the madness of dominion it’s obviousky difficult but yes going toe to toe with Rocky Balboa is suicide

    As a zerker player i have some pointers. standing your ground may not be the best option if you're not good at parrying or problem solving. what i mean by that is that all players, whether they know it or not, favor a specific pattern, different directions for specific attacks. (I.E. I tend to favor my left when doing my feint game more than my right and rarely use my top, which usually comes back to bite me in the *** when my opponent figures it out).

    However, a good counter, other than keeping your distance, is playing defensively. If you're in a corner there's not backing up and getting away, so you'll have to stand your ground eventually. When this happens, be aware of what the zerker is doing. is he relying on feint game, zone attack, guard breaks? you'll probably take a few hits when trying to figure out but when you do, keep playing it smart. block whatever you can and wait for his stamina to go down. Whether he runs out our not eventually he'll stop or back off to get his stamina back and when he does that's when you take advantage.

    also, try not to get flustered. yes it's a lot coming at you all at once but the second you start to panic is the second the zerker has already won. the easiest kills i've ever had is when i've harassed a player with feints into lights and then they just start throwing whatever they can think of that might stop me.

    Never, and i mean, NEVER, try to trade with zerker. Unless you're playing with shugo or highlander or some hero with high damage and hyper armor, you will not win a trade off with a zerker. Granted is damage was nerfed for his heavy finishers but it's still enough to end in the zerker's favor.

    I'd suggest that you pick up zerker for a while to get to know what he is and isn't capable of. go into the training arena and practice against a level three bot until you can't lose. find a good zerker player to spar with. the same can be said with any hero. For the longest time i had the worst trouble fighting wardens but then i picked him up till i got him to rep 10. now i can hold my own significantly better.

    Berserker is known OP. Everybody now ok with this, devs said stupid comment about him on Q/A last Den, so...
    Just give up. Zerk will beat you with skill or without if you let him.

    This is so true. No matter what hero im playing as i try to be as unpredictable as i can but because of muscle memory i have patterns as well. For example as berserker i like to feint all of my top heavies into a gb. After a few times it's fun to finally let it rip and slice their head clean off.

    But yeah i understand why people think he's OP, the HA is a bit ridiculous for an assasin but if you can't get your combo going you'll find yourself in a tough situation. I've met a lot of veterans that just block or parry my everything and counter gb me even when im on my feint game. Skilled turtles WILL still wreck a zerker.
