Where it was, where it is now and where is for honor going?

    Hello,

First of all, i dont want raise any negative discussions or feelings, just simply i had a strong will to come here and share what i feel about this game.
Lets start for the very beginning, game was good in beta, still there was that turtle meta that was quite annoying and frustrating. Dev's realized that and turn the game to some other direction. Maybe few months ago game was ok with some cosmetic things to patch and so on. What is happening now is out of control. It became spam fest, assassins running around and spamming light 24/7. Now its very close to 5-13 years public. Dont get me wrong i understand that some people like to spam and have fun there ( for me its just waste of joypad/mouse and it makes my brain go lazy) but this game lost that beautiful feeling of defense and success at counterattack. As i wrote already game should get balance when it come to turtle meta but not like this and they went a away over common sense with attack finesse. Just game lost that great feeling when you could stand for a 30+ sec vs 3-4 players now thats very very hard to achieve. Game is flooded with orochi, shaman, PK, and other spam queens and kings. And i am afraid upcoming heroes will be the same.
I believe that game is going wrong way, there should be balance like always and everywhere, otherwise it will became one colored boring grey wall.

    Best regards!

I too would rather see the pace slow down a bit, I think they did a lot of good things with the reworks and changes to parrying and revenge, the mix up options and combo change ups are all good things, it's about mind games and reading your opponents, the thing I don't like is every character getting 400ms light attacks.

There is way too much light spam now, Orochi doesn't even feint anymore, he just hammers out 400ms light after 400ms light, because he knows barely anyone can parry them. It's all just lights and GBs.

It's becoming a scary trend in all of the reworks, even the heavy classes, Conq has fast lights now.

I think Kensei is a good example of a rework done properly, he's strong, he has a ton of options, hyper armor on certain moves but he can be dealt with if you are patient and have even half decent reflexes.

Orochi and Berserker are examples of the wrong way to do it, they have options as well, but their style is all about using attacks that are too fast to react to. Even if you know what they are going to do and wait for it, it's too fast to switch guard before it happens, it becomes a guessing game due to the speed of the attacks.

Yea game is currently a ****show. Skillbased is questionable it's more like spambased getting spammed by level 1 noobs all the time. Game feels more like gamble than combat and it is way too messy. Some characters are acting like grandpas with alzheimer. The game was ql in beta and in season 1 after that **** gone south, with implementing new OP heroes with little to none testing (they were just ql and fun). They should really focus on balancing core characters (and now they are doing ****y reworks with even more spam mechanics) and testing new characters for longer periods (test servers were joke). All they can do is adding more ****y cosmetics that are fun for kids with no sense of art and aesthetics. The only good part is 1v1 if you get 2 equal balanced champs.

You mean rep levels are higher on one side?

I am not sure how they make a match either with overall rep or hero rep, whatever they do, too many
times one team is way OP, also its nonsense to pair premade team with team of single players, cause advantage there for a premade team is obvious.

Agreed that premade teams should not be matched with random teams, but high reps doesn't mean one team is better though.

Groups of two should be max for playing with randoms, groups of 3s and 4s should play each other, 3s and 4s shouldn't play against a full team of randoms who can't even communicate since dedicated servers killed game chat.

It may feel like brainless spamming but it's not that way when the game is at it's peak level of entertainment (good players fighting good players.)
Those wonderful back and forth matches where people take turns aggressing and defending still exist. you just have to become a better player to get there.

Spam is only an issue with lower tiers. I understand the frustration of the situation and being asked to continually get better. But this is going to keep happening until for honor finally reaches a fixed state. Which we're decently close to in my opinion. I'd recommend using training a lot more. Or simply taking a break for 4-6 months and coming back when pretty much any major core change to the game will probably be done by then.

You're assuming we aren't playing at higher levels, I know its not mindless spamming, they have a routine of 400ms attacks that they spam through, it's still non stop light attacks though.

Training isn't helping me much at all because the bots don't fight like players do. It's not learning that is the issue, I know when I'm being outplayed and when I just don't have the time to react to certain attacks.

The 400 ms attacks are the issue here and those battles back and forth with aggressive attacking can only happen right now if both people are using fast attacking assassin classes. If you attack aggressively with any of the other classes you just get killed from parries and dash attacks.
