Simply some thoughts:
I wonder if this mess generated by the current patch is an indirect indication that there might be in the works (or already planned) a hardcore/survivor type of setting for the solo campaign? Or same for the Vietnam DLC?
Setting aside for the moment what's currently happened, and how could it not have been foreseen, or was it tested prior to release ...
What if there's no fast travel in any new setting? Add to that, should you die your gear is gone and weapons must be re-acquired, etc?
What if actual (that is, a portion of) coding has gotten truly mixed up between what up to now has been features working as intended, and what is planned for the future?
I know currently if you don't fast travel and don't die, there's no issue regarding availability of any DLC content whether in the shop or your inventory.
So opening it to the forum as to whether any others have been wondering what on earth might have caused such a mess in a patch, and that it apparently can't be addressed rather quickly given its impact.
There is something called survival mode coming with the dlc. For the life of me i cant remember where i saw the info but i found a little snippet on pc gamer. If I remember where else i saw it, ill post again.

So, survivor mode is a difficulty setting apparently unlocked from completing the dlc. When I started the dlc i had the option of doing it right off the bat. It ket me start in survivor mode. I only tried to see if it would start. I quit and restarted on normal for my first run but it was there straight away.
