SUGGESTION: Please Return To The Old AI For NPC's

The new artificial intelligence (AI) are inherited from the Wildlands Ubisoft game. They have the same behavior, especially once excited, as those AI. Or at least the NPC's share many common behaviors. In truth, the AI has stepped backwards a decade or so in quality. It is now much more 'arcade' in behavior instead of providing increased realism. The AI, for enemies, in Far Cry 4 were better and supported stealth play to a greater degree. Also the new AI behaves, in the excited state, unrealistically. Some examples are: see through concealment like brush and trees. It also sees through the edges of buildings and detects the player before they are actually in line of sight. Further, at times, the detection is faster than a human can possibly respond to counter act. The excited AI or NPC's will also run faster than any human could possibly run. All this, as it did in Wildlands, compromises the quality of immersion. This is especially true for players who prefer a stealth approach to the loud and proud or run and gun approaches. If you truly support all play styles, as you advertise, please make this change or eliminate these behaviors. Right now, once excited, it can impossible to break contact. Stealth players will break contact to allow the NPC's time to reset to a lower excitement level. I have, in both Wildlands and FC5, broken contact, go completely out of line of sight - yet NPC's come directly to my location. This has happened even from miles or kilometers away. That is far from realistic and greatly impacts immersion in a negative manner. Please make these changes to truly support all play styles. Thank you for listening!

Interesting. I find some outposts become alerted way to easily. But most of the random encounters, I find the Peggies as dumb and unaware as a fence post.

EDIT: what I’ve concluded is that Peggies are CSI crime lab ballistics experts. LOL. When they find a dead body, they can instantly trace the source of the shot and using the exact time of death, determine the shooters current location based on average crouched foot speed and terrain.

But when you break the window....people react, more or less. I would like to hear from them, something like - "Why?! Stop it!"

I see a similar behaviour in FC4 - I believe the game AI is not individual but central accessed by all games

As for me, I don't like that enemies can't hide well behind the objects! They always sticking out of possible hiding. It was made deliberately or not, by programmers, I don't know .....may be it was made - to give a gamer more chances to kill the enemy. But, in any case, it kills immersion! To see the enemy sticking out his head or completely all body while intense shooting - not good. Developers, for next Far Cry "teach them" to hide better! Tell programmers that when we are hiding and armed, enemies should react accordingly to the situation. But not run towards us like sheeps! You are playing with gamers in giveaway again! Making shooting easier. Killing exciting process of gunfight! Firefight can be very very exciting. It can be like real mini-game! (if your enemy is hiding well). Firefight can be very long in time. It can be really immersive and even exhausting. (if your enemy is smart enough).

But when I see enemies sitting or standing near possible shelter, while shooting, without using it.......my heart starts bleeding again!

When zombies are running towards us is one thing, they are "blind".......but when humans.......Not good!

The behavior is very similar in the unexcited state. Once excited the 'arcade' behavior takes over and is much more extreme since Wildlands. And bugs like, seeing me through bushes and the like are very problematic then. Impossibly tracking you, etc. Also has more 'mobbing' behavior.

Just went back to FC3 again. The AI and the pirates are so much more interesting, fun, varied and engaging. What a step back with 5. I agree 4 also better. FC3 and 4 also have so much more fun density per square ft. IMO of course.

And with 3, if you're on a PC, and use a mod it's even MUCH better ...
