Hi all,
I've been doing some upgrading on my Dads computer this week. Used an A7V8X board I had and 2400xp. Everything is working very well except for getting the Audigy software to install from the CD. When I load the cd and click on the "Install" tab I get a message that "Set-up can not find an Audigy2 installed on your system". If I go to the Creative site and use their Auto up-date feature it finds it ok and list all the up-dates ok. I was able to get the drivers downloaded and the card is working but only half the features in the Mediasource get loaded. I tried the cd that came with my card and get the same results. Changed the card to a different slot too. Checked to see if it was sharing IRQ and it's not. Windows says everything is groovy. I spent about two hours at Creative searching the Knowledge Base but came up with nothing. His card installed fine on the old board he was using. I know there are alot of Audigy users here and thought I'd throw this out and see if anybody else has run into the same problem. I've loaded the latest BIOS and 4in1 chipset stuff.
Thanx and happy New Year!

Hawg-dawg,
Yes I did. I should probably have saved a dxdiag report to post here but I did'nt think of it when I left my Dad's place lastnight with steam rolling out of my ears.

Have you disabled onboard sound in the BIOS? Also check the device manager before you install and make sure onboard sound is either not listed or disabled. Then install the card. Creative recommends to use slot 5--or the last slot available. It should be IRQ5.
When you first boot after installation, it should pop up a new hardware detected message. Cancel that and proceed with the disc installation and/or the new drivers you downloaded.

Thanx Weather_Man,
I started with the third slot and then moved it up one. I'll try the last one down and check for the IRQ 5. The last slot on the bottom is blue and I was thinking it was reserved for wireless network stuff. I'll have to take a look in the manual and see what it says about that.
