Why is revenge gained in 1v1 fights?

In 1v1 fights in brawls or any of the battle modes with no one near you why is revenge even a thing? Other than to reward turtles and frustrate people to no end whats the point? Am i missing something?

Revenge builds like to deter players from running blindly into an active fight. The gains from a 1v1 aren't that wild, I personally have never had many revenge procs off of just one small skirmish with a singular opponent. However, I have had multiple occasions where I was about halfway to a revenge proc when a second enemy enters and tips the scale in my favor. If you aren't throwing out wild attacks that get blocked or parried, then you will be fine. Also there is a window after each skirmish that the revenge built up from one fight is still active, I've had this happen many times as well, where I manage to kill an opponent, have about half life left when a new opponent enters. My revenge had not reset, and this helps me stand in that fight due to having s trump card at the ready.

I think what he's trying to say is that when your fighting someone and it's a 1v1 and the other guy get revenge and beats you even though you were clearly winning. I have to agree it's stupid. Why should I be punished for being better. As for the people who clame yo mor have ot happen that much, its probably because you doing use many heros with unblockable bashes. The more unblockables that connect give the other guy more revenge gain from what I understand. I play lb if there's a turtle that I have to shove to open up they almost always gain revenge. In 1v1 the hero shouldn't be able to pop revenge, they can still gain it but not be able to pop it. You can only pop it when someone else locks onto you.

If someone got revenge in a 1v1, that means they blocked and/or parried you more of your attacks (because that's the ONLY way that's happening.) So tell me how the hell you assume that you are out playing your opponent when they are mitigating 75% or more of your attacks? This idea that you can wail on someone and in 3-4 connected attack they suddenly get revenge is outright false.

If I correct, you gain revenge even if you get damange. In warrior's trials you could find trail with Raider, when game ask you NOT to block attack, let them hit you and than use revenge. So, no, not only from blocking and parring.

The gains from being hit are very minimal, even running a high building revenge set of gear I don't manage to get the buff off of most of my 1v1 encounters, and that's with parries and blocks, as well as dodges/deflects and hits. Neither do my opponents, because I don't throw out many predictable hits that are going to feed that buff.

So what I get from most of the people here is that they just want to win. No matter how unfair it its. To them if they turtle up and just wait for revenge and win that way it completely fair. Which means your someone that can't win with out revenge and that thought of people wanting a change scares you.

Lmfao, that's not even what is said, but good try attempting to misquote every post advising you how to deal with revenge. With that attitude, this game is just going to upset you time after time. XD
    Some people's kids...

I've been playing this game since the closed alpha not stopping now. Getting revenge in a 1v1 fight to beat the other player isn't fun of the loser its a cheap way to win. Some heros have to deal with it more than others which people do seem to understand either. Unblockables that connect give a higher revenge gain that any others from my understanding (except parrying an unblockable). There are some heros that can only open people up with shove or bash attacks. LB is my main he has no way of successfully opening people up other than black shove. almost every fight that lasts for more then 2 minutes ends up with the other hero getting revenge. Why should I be punished when the only thing I have to open people up with is a shove. I say that's bs and they shouldn't be allowed to use there revenge at all, until it becomes a 1v2. This is a fighting not a wait for revenge to win game.

you want change because you are incompetent in certain area, which is no excuse. about UB, if you can't parry UB, just dodge! if you let UB connects, good riddance. I see plenty Lawbringers break turtles just fine. Maybe some serious git gud is needed if you spend the whole time incapable of playing lawbringers effectively "since close alpha".
I'm glad someone other than me said it! And here I was beginning to feel like the only one with common sense.
