With maestro and alibi coming soon we're going to see a hell of alot more Thatchers, IQs, and Twitch players, literally ALL of kapkans counters! Hes in desperate need of a major buff. if all 3 operators fail to find and destroy my traps then they should be punished with death! its so infuriating seeing so many attackers just run past my traps like nothing especially if they have a finka which makes kapkan into a joke! Please bring back deadly traps!!
We need a way to mount on top and bottom frame of windows, and top of door.
Also can we please have some quality of life improvements. Being cancled out of the plant animation because a teammate walks in front of me. Or having to look around to find a prompt because it doesn't register at curtain angles.
I've gotta be honest, IQ will never be a must pick. Every season new ops are released that are supposed to, in some way, buff IQ but the reality of the matter is that her gadget offers no more utility than a drone or hacked camera. A perfect example is against Maestro, her gadget will tell you it is there but does nothing against it. Both Thatcher and Twitch also do very little against this gadget, knocking it out for a mere 10 seconds. As far as Alibi goes, IQ still provides very little assistance, especially with people just taking the place of the hologram after you have sussed out where they are. After a few weeks of the seasons release, I will be willing to bet a lot of money that neither IQ, Twitch or Thatcher will be picked anymore than they are now.
Even if they were, Kapkan is still a pretty effective operator. The point of him is to not get kills but instead reduce the attacking teams health to assist the anchors. If you are near your own gadgets, you can utilise them in a way that forces the attacker to expose themselves to shoot the trap out if they spot it. I think kapkan is in as good a place as he can be in this game. Is he perfect, no. Does he require a little finesse and skill to play.... yeah but that's not a bad thing.
I personally enjoy having ops that you have to learn rather than ops like finka with her global push button ability that takes no forethought.
