    Whiskey River Glitch?

I’m on my last cask for Whiskey River side mission and I think I’m hitting a glitch. It’s the one right to the west of the Can of Worms Fishing Store. Every time I try to swim near it, the game acts like I’m hitting an invisible wall. If I get near it from the south, the game quickly pushes me out of the area. I can’t get near it. Everything I’m reading says this should be a simple one to grab and I haven’t been able to find anyone else experiencing this issue. Any suggestions? Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi allencoreyb, can you try these steps and see if they help?

I had the same scenario allen. I solved it by airdropping & landing in water within ~10m from barrel from the North iirc, then swimming straight down. May take a few tries but it was very buggy graphics that adds to confusion of being seemingly surrounded by funnel-like glass walls, underwater. The last update really added more problems than it supposedly fixed. I don't even see half the things on my screen as my coop friend does! Not to mention that we still cannot access our season pass/deluxe/gold edition dlc after 3+ days. Pretty broke game, sadly.

    Thanks for reporting this.

Would you be able to provide us with a video showing what's happening and on which barrel?

I've not been able to find any known issue reports for this so it may be something we may have to raise.

I have the exact same problem, same barrel, same effect.

    Location:
It is the Whskey Barrel between "can of worms fishing shop" and "misty-river-gas-station"on the south-east side of Silver Lake.

    Effect:
The area with the strange bug / effect is ~40m in diameter in the water (not on land) around the location of the wiskey barrel.
you can even see it if you shoot from the stationary gun near "can of worms shop" into the water . the bullet impact "holes" and the "spray fountains" in the water will move towards north-west in that area, outside the area they just go straight up.
If you swim into that area you will be pushed outwards to the east. - you cannot swim into it from the east, however from the west you will travel very fast through it.
if you dive towards it (from south-east) around 15meters away you will notice a "push" that propells you ~80m behind the barrel..

a boat is not affected - it will stay and can drive on the water above the barrel location

I did not get a video of the glitch, but I was able to get past it.

I closed out of the Far Cry application completely and reloaded. Instead of swimming to the barrel from any random angle, I jumped in the water at the cross marker and swam directly at the barrel from the direction marker (I think it was an "N" for this one). Not sure which part fixed it but I'm guessing it was one of those two things. I never went back to see if it was still occuring after collecting the cask.

    Whiskey barrel glitch

I just spent an hour trying to get that barrel tonight. I thought it was some kind of puzzle where you had to approach the barrel from a certain direction. I had absolutely no luck. I will see if I can get a video of it tomorrow.

Here's the link to a video I just took. Very frustrating.

This is exactly the same issue I'm experiencing on the PS4 version of the game. Same barrel, same exact location. At first, I thought it might be that the current from the river was too strong, but swimming up river from the opposite side of the area lets me continue up river. If we can't reach that barrel, it prevents completion of the quest.

    you are not alone!
