I am rather nauseous at the moment.
I have a ps4 and logged into FC5 to participate in the latest community event. Before I got started I logged into the ubisoft club using the PS4 browser. I updated my profile and then logged into the Arcade with my ubisoft account to get the free skin after all that I popped into the application.
I log in succesfully find my mission then hit the pad on my controller to swap out a weapon and notice my prized sniper rifle I got with my "Father" edition was not there. So I ran back to town to get the weapon. It was there in the menu and figured it was some glitch. No big deal tech life happens so I equipped it & run back to the fight to pick off some damn peggies.
I clear the area the go to switch out weapons and this time they are ALL missing! What the he...I go back to town but THIS time they are not even in the menu. I get frustrated hitbmy PS button and choose ti close the application to restart the application but when I do I get a blue screen. Ugh! I go through the motions to properly restart my unit go to log back into a FC5 and it bring back to the create a charater screen. Confused I enlist me son to help me figure what hey is going on and he tells me my game is corrupt and the last campaign save data was on 4/14/2018?!?! I play quite regularly so whats going on??
Gasp...panic...cuss!!!!!! There was some other very colorful vocabulary I will not elborate on here but I have alot of hours invested and a whole month is nit even accounted for? Ugh...He did have me uninstall the reinstall the disk to see if it would recover the data but nothing. What the heck is going on?? This is thw only game on my ps4 that is corrupted after the blue screen. I am just beside myself...many hours wasted.
Oh and the perks such as clothing weapons and season pass also have disappeared too! How can I get my data and special items back
Ya, call your bank / credit card company and initiate a chargeback case... that you don't have the items you paid for. So the purchase was not as intended. They broke it... mistakes happen, but the fact that days later they still haven't hotfixed it is a sign of lack of caring --- it's not a complicated issue.. we know what it is, people have been pulling it a part on Reddit already. How does the team not know?
You can always delete the update, play offline....... up to you how you'd like to go about it, but I think this shows how little preference it has. Anyone reading this considering buying the gold deluxe edition, the game, season pass, etc... don't. Wait until this is resolved and see what the communication and compensation is. It's a great game, it's a shame it's not receiving more urgency when something like this happens that we all paid our hard-earned money for.
First of all - apologies for the typos in the original post. I was typing on a 4" screen and my eye sight isn't what it used to be. I am rather impressed there weren't more. Calling the bank/credit card company is pointless while you may *think* your sticking it to Ubisoft they already have your funds and thats that. I did drop a bit of coin on this game. In fact well over $200 for a pre-order of "The Father Edition" and an extra steel case Gold edition for my friend to play. When she realized she was not going to get credit for playing in co-op mode she lost interest. Kinda dumb not to let everyone reap the rewards from working together. I was also supposed to get a free digital edition of Far Cry Primal with my pre-order. Thought it s absence was a glitch that would be address but apparently not. Lesson learned regarding pre-orders - future mental note to self - definitely not worth it and don't do it again.
Anyway, as for the issues I am having - once my raging blood pressure was restored I did some research and the missing season pass and special items appears to be widespread problem but due to the holiday weekend I am sure there is no emergency on Ubisofts end to resolve it after all they already got our funds.
Since my holiday was rained out I planned on spending my weekend restoring order to Hope County, recover some cheeseburger bobble-heads, wrap up a few side missions, maybe do a bit of cyber fishing (since the real world fishing was washed out) and finally knock that nut Jacob on his arse. Instead I am spending time trying to figure out why my data was corrupted and how to recover it (I know real world issues hehe).
Here is what I have done and so far trying to recover the corrupt data:
1. As stated in the original post I uninstalled the game then reinstalled it. - Did not solve problem
2. Reinstalled system update - still a no go
3. Rebooted PS4 into safe mode and rebuilt the database - campaign data still corrupt.
I thought the system was supposed to automatically save it to the cloud since that option was check in the ps4 setting . I suppose that was a naive assumption on my end. My last online save data was well over a month ago and while I could replace my corrupt file the online save one there is a probability that it could also become corrupted. Also there is a crap ton of progress to lose if I go in that direction. What are the chances a future fix to the current glitch will resolve my corrupted campaign data?
Seriously did they not test this update for bugs before it was pushed out??

Ugh I have no hope for the DLC update in June when so many appear to have mysteriously "lost" their Season pass access.
