I've never seen a game like this before, let alone one that's been out for more than 2 years, where missions disappear when you go afk. Why is it I grab a weekly mission that cost me 45 target intel, then go pinch a loaf before doing it, only to come back to having the mission gone, as well as my target intel when I log back in?
I didn't even leave the base of operations. I grabbed the mission from the NPC.. checked my world map to see where it is, saw it, then went to take a dump. I come back after getting auto logged out, my mission is gone, and so is my 45 target intel.
Never in my life have I seen such a game, let alone a so called MMO kill your missions and resources for simply going afk... There was no timer up or anything.... I even went back to the NPC, and I couldn't re-pick it up.. and to top it off, I am now also locked out of most of the weekly missions because I don't have the target intel to get them.
What in the ever loving hell Ubisoft?
Can we get this fixed in part 2? The more I play this game, the more I get the feeling I'm playing a beta for part 2... we get to play with all the broken crap they just made millions off of... then draw us along with the promise of actually fixing the game and making it what they said they would by making millions more off of part 2.
Just call this The Division Beta, and part 2, just The Division...
Oh, and I got a Historian from a GE cache last night again... Same sort of thing with getting the Liberator last week where I even showed the screenshot. I like how you moved my post out of the main forum and out of sight, and put it where nobody even cares (let alone your devs). I would say well played, but you guys aren't that clever..![]()
Re: HVT
When you disconnect from the game — whether by choice or due to a connectivity error — there is actually a grace period where you can reconnect and continue from where you left off.
My DSL is pretty janky sometimes and tends to drop connection randomly, so I'm very familiar with (and thankful for) the game's ability to put me right back into the action without skipping a beat after I reconnect a few moments (or even a few minutes) later.
Whether I'm solo or in a group, doing HVTs, missions, or whatever, I've honestly never had a major problem with it, nor lost any major character progress as a result of a disconnection.
I also just tested a weekly HVT a few minutes ago. I bought the first weekly HVT, then logged out, then logged back in again. The HVT still showed as being purchased and available to run. Then I quit the entire game and reloaded. Same result: The HVT was ready and waiting for me. No credits lost.
However, that grace period doesn't last forever, so barring any other server or connectivity issues, it's really on you to get back into the game ASAP and hopefully continue from where you left off.
It sucks that you lost the credits, obviously, but the fact that you paid for the HVT with no intention of actually running it right at that moment is really your own fault, not the game's.
Re: Exotics
The vendor exotics were removed from exotic caches and open world boss drops, but other sources of exotics such as GE caches can still drop any exotic in the game — they were not changed.
This is stated in the 1.8.1 patch notes, but I guess they could have been a little more specific with the details.
But yeah... Nothing technically "broken", that's just how it's working right now.
Exotic Loot drops
- Removed Premium Vendor Exotics from Open World loot pool and Exotic Caches
- All Exotics added to the Open World Bosses.
This is true for HVT's but not for the HRT's If you Delta or log out you lose intel and as the OP states he was doing the 45 intel HRT.Originally Posted by illformed Go to original post
The weekly HVT's consist of 4 HVT's and 4 HRT's the one you attempted was a HRT (high risk target) and when you start these you will have to accept that you are about to start a mission and if you fail you will lose intel and have to pay again. So if you fail, Delta auto log out whilst inactive or leave the mission area it is mission over, Sucks for sure and I sympathise with you but its always been this way.Originally Posted by CPL599 Go to original post
I just bought the weekly HRT "Robinson" and then Alt+F4'ed my game to simulate a random disconnection.Originally Posted by bluey uk Go to original post
Note: I did not travel to the HRT location to start it yet.
After logging back in, the HRT was still paid for and active on my map, and was simply waiting for me to teleport to it — which I did and successfully completed it.
Then I bought the weekly HRT "Cleopatra" and travelled to the location to actually start it up.
A few seconds after starting the HRT, I once again Alt+F4'ed to immediately close the game.
After logging back in, the game resumed flawlessly from the HRT location, and I was able to successfully complete it.
(Note: It's the same story even when my connection unexpectedly drops for real, which it has done countless times in the past... )
So... All I can really say is that things seem to be working as intended for me personally.
Unfortunately it seems like things may not be working quite as smoothly for everyone?
