G'day guys, I'm not sure if it's because of the update but I noticed it after the update. the game starts to load, synchronizing with cloud then launch error.

The first thing I'd advise, if you haven't already, is clearing the Uplay cache. You can do this through the steps in the FAQ here. Sometimes this needs to be done after an update, as it will stop the game from opening.

Thanks, I tried that but no luck, I have re-installed the game, formatted the pc and tried in different win10 versions and builds. I have tried older Nvidia drivers and GeForce experience versions but still nothing.
I'll jump in on this. AMD discrete GPU here and yes same issue, game won't initialise. Cache deletion does not fix this|
I'm not sure when last update came in but I'm sure I was playing fine a little while ago and for the many years I've owned the game

What error messages do you get when it fails to launch? Do you get any specific error messages?
It is because you are using Insider Preview. A bunch of us are having this problem. I do not know why they don't just say this instead of having you go through hoops.
The only message I get is "Launch Error - Failed to Start The Game"
That may be the case. I have tried My OEM version Win10 then a few versions up until 1803 build 17677. I have turned off insider builds and tried after a roll-back but still the same .. All the versions of FarCry still work, I should try The Division as well but I am over re-installing these. maybe time to move on ..
I had to come back to say that after a PC restart the game started ok. I should have tried this before posting. Sorry to waste everybodys time.
