Hi I created a large building and I want to raise it but don't no how to select the entire structure it was created with generic pieces.
I want to put water under the building so I dug/lowered the terrain under the building to the depth I wanted it but the building lowered with it so now I need to raise the building again and cannot figure out how to select it completely. When I hold r1 nothing seems to happen I thought it would select the entire structure but it does not.
Has anyone spotted a tutorial that may help?
Thanks for the reply.
You could have turned off the option to move objects with terrain and then lowered the terrain; this way, your building wouldn't have moved with the terrain.
Now, if you don't have an earlier save, you can use group selection; however, keep in mind that, due to performance issues, there's a limit to how many objects you can group select, so this will probably be a pain.
Another option would be to edit the terrain and raise it to where it originally was (so that the building moves back up), then lower it with that option set to off. But I'm not sure if the entire building will move back up correctly when you raise the terrain.
There is a tool to raise the terrain to a specific height; that's what I'd use (and not Bump).
This isn't clear from the onscreen instructions, but if you tap the select button (R2 on PS4, I think?) while highlighting an object, it toggles it as selected, so you can just go around tagging all of the building pieces like this until you have the whole thing, and I personally would then hit square on them and adjust them via coordinates rather than eyeballing it, but you might not need to be that precise, I don't know your life. Like and unlike what cskiller86 says, there is kind of a limit on this, in that it gets squirrelly after you've selected a bunch of stuff, but in my experience, it will still select it, you just might get graphical errors while it's selected. You can tell if it's working if the pieces stays shaded green like a selected object, whether the bounding box is still visible or not.
