About points in Dominion
Yesterday me and my friends decided to conduct an experiment, cause we have theory of why some people in Dominion could have 4th feat right after the game start.
So we made a custom match of Dominion with me vs. my two friends. The theory was simple: if someone kills opponent with 5+ killstreack, he gain extra points for this. So I killed my friend 10 times, and than let one of them kill me. And bingo! he got 250 points from one kill. Two feats in a moment.
You could ask "What's wrong? It's ok to reward someone who interrupt killstreack. Sure, if this not mean to take extra advantage from nothing. Let me write down an example. I stand in the zone, kill enemies who come one after another. So I gain 40-90 point from kills, and zone boost extra. But than two guys come and kill me, so one of them got 200-300 points from it, just cause he lucky and kill me in 2v1 situation. So after that he and me in the same position. I got second feat and he have. But I needed boosting zone for it and killed some enemies. He just needed one lucky shot. So boosting zone is useless, if you can just kill someone with 5/0 K/D and have all you need to win.
Btw, we found out some other issues with points in dominion. We all say that For Honor is skill based, we should rewarded honorable actions, right? No.
If you kill opponent without execution, you will get 40-50 points. Kill opponent with execution will give you 80-90. But IF you will kill opponent with environment you will get 100+
So most rewarded way to kill in Dominion is most unskill and dishonored way. Plant on spikes, throw from ledge, etc. Ubisoft think it's most cool thing you can do in Dominion.
Btw, if you accendently poke someone and he will fall or spiked, and this person have 5+ kill streack you could get 300+ points. From one kill. Brilliant, Ubisoft.
You even rewarded Deathball tactics, now I can see it. I could boost the zone all day, but couple Warlodrs could take same number of points just ledge me again and again. Cool.
Really, if you, Ubisoft, want to start doing something about deathball, just make point gains from zones better, than from kills. This will be a good start.
