Since Season 6's launch, my heavy attack hasn't been working properly, only on controller. At first I thought my right trigger was faulty, so I decided to test it - in Steam's controller settings, I swapped my right button and right trigger and went in game again. Even when I moved my heavy attack to the right button, it still didn't work properly, while my light attack now mapped to the presumed faulty right trigger worked flawlessly. So it's not a flaw in my controller. Also, no other games cause issues at all.
This is an issue on all characters and the heavy attack sometimes just won't go off. I don't have this issue with mouse and keyboard, only with a controller. Any solutions?
I use a generic controller, worked flawlessly during Season 5
Hi there PopGligor! Can you try verifying files? Let me know if that helps!
Hey! I couldn't play with a friend's controller, but I fixed the issue. Turns out it's a problem with Steam's controller settings for the game. The solution is to go to Steam Big Picture, go to For Honor, then go Manage game, Controller configuration, and from there, in both the Gameplay and Guard Mode parts, change the settings for the heavy attacks to this:
Observe everything - Full action, soft pull, soft pull trigger style. I'm not sure if the trigger range does anything, but I changed it too. I think the problem is that in general, Full pull action doesn't have heavy attack on it. Again - make sure you apply these settings both in the Gameplay and the Guard mode sections. It works.
