Orochis light attks are completly fine , On PC at least . Cant say anything for console . Not only i get blocked most of the times , ppl also parry my lights , be it the first one or the second after . I ve also went to arena and tryed few different things . Lights in chain can be perfectly blocked even when the first one hits you . Lights in chain can be parried easily as well. Its a little more difficult to parry the next light after the first one hit you but it can be blocked with no doubt . Riptide stirke if fine as well . Out of neutral its useless in 1vs1 scenarios . It works only on players who ahve no idea what orochi can do now . Most of the time when i try my luck i get parried and if any other orochis tries it on me its a free parry . Storm rush is a little more delicate . I try to think of it as orochis unblocable . I am struggling as well to block any other direction than top but ive went against a lot of ppl who had no problem with it so its most likely my own fault . Thats why i tend to hit him out of it . Orochis is far from OP and still needs something to open up turtles .Its not as bad as it was seasons ago but there are still ppl who play only defensive . Against them i couldnt do anything . When there are palyers who parry your feinted zone and never attks except for safe moves its almost impossible to win with orochi .
I just came back at the start of season 6 and was rep 30 something with the old Orochi. This new one is quite fast with his attacks. VS other Orochis who are trying him out he isn't a problem. Those that have used him before and understand his kit are tough. He is still predictable to fight. Riptide is kinda cheap move which you can land a few right off the bat. No more is it a calculated counter strike. I no longer care about facing Aramusha light combo as I can now counter quick enough and actually go on the offensive, the new Orochi eats him up. The new lights are fast but most people who try to spam them I just keep distance like how I used Orochi before in and out and hit a deflect or two. The new storm rush I have little success hitting but I haven't gotten used to the timing yet so I get hit with that but it is rarely used. I miss the double tap after a hit. When using all his kit he now feels complete and I no longer feel I am at a disadvantage against certain heroes.
Shugoki and Warden are the ones that literally can't do anything unless they manage to OOO the orochi somehow. There isn't a single move that a warden or Shugoki have that can match the speed of any of the Orochi moves. So even attempting to heavy + feint + heavy or even heavy + feint + light is practically suicide because in the time you do one or the other the orochi can land 2-4 hits.Warden have zone. It's almost ultimate counter to new Storm Rush. See him closing in, do zone. What about the others, I should say it's input lags again. I mean on the Arena I can block Orochi new lights even with my Shinobi. In game it's way harder to do, cause sometimes you change guard, and even hear this metall sound of blocking, but still get hit. Lags, unfortunatly, helps fast chars be unpunishable. Still, we can manage new Orochi, I know that. Just need some time.I dont know Raime, had plenty of occasions where my guard just does not come up against him.
It’s different to play on Console and PC. I played both. I can block every single attack of Aramusha on PC but console it’s very very hard. Its not about training against the hero or reaction. The system in hand for console makes it extremely hard. Its much different from PC just sliding mouse one mm and boom. I’m forced to play Conq and bait out full block stance so I can block Orochi. Fundamental problem here is Orochi or Aramusha’s light attack is faster than every move I have. How can I fight against it? Stupid thing is if I feint my heavy and Orochi throws light after that he hits me before my guard returns.
I don't duel so maybe its different there, I know its slower paced. On dominion and tribute fights are very fast paced and you don't have time to wait during a fight. I had that trouble with the old Orochi and I couldn't dispatch someone that quick and help would arrive, then its 2v1. I'm on Xbox and sure I don't block every attack coming at me. Never could with Aramusha and don't with the new Orochi. I know it's sounds dumb but I don't let they hit me with those lights. I try to remember their kits and what they can do and how they try to mix things up. I LOVE Arena mode, I can just go after one attack and try parries, blocks or deflects and see what works best for me. I'll take a hit or two if it sets me up for more damage and gives me the fight advantage. My lag on screen usually reads between 14-33 so if I get hit it is on me. I struggle more with Zerker, he is the most pain for me.
Reflex heros suffer from that. It's because switching guard doesn't block immediately for them. And animation ques are a thing. Meaning if you failed to block his first attack and were in the process of switching to that guard and then you try to immediately switch guard again to block you won't because your person has to finish the first animation (so your first block) before you can do the next animation.Originally Posted by Charmzzz Go to original post
This is also why people struggled with aramusha getting "spammed" to death. After they did some under the hood reflex guard fixes the frequency of this happens less from my testing. It seems like the more accurate your switch timings are the less likely you'll deal with this. But the later you switch (or in other words the slower your reflexes are) the possibility of getting hit because of animation queing is more likely. I posted this awhile back in a reply to someone. Should have made it as it's own thread.
Regardless. Orochi doesn't get any guaranteed hits in his kit beyond his top light confirming the second one. Animation queing is not specific to orochi or reflex guard heros. So I wouldn't count that.
New Roach is pretty meh. But if the connection is just a little bit sub par he becomes unblockable on the second hit immediately after the first.
Same issue with other characters. Conq light chains are unparryable if the connection is sub par. Even if all the guy does is repeatedly spam lights and youre a god at parrying it just doesnt ****ing work. (Been both at the receiving as well as delivering end for this one, looks hillarious when you realize the guy cant parry them)
The game is designed for precise reactions but the quality of the connections doesnt support it. I also feel as if the servers got worse since the last patch and/or they strain under pressure, Idk Saturday connections in particular are always so much worse.
Might just be bad luck on my end ~.~
Console have slow reaction rate than PC. I noticed it that when you movevthe analog stick there is a bit of delay in the movement. I don't know if it's because of the ps4 fat being 30fps or is it the controller being wireless having delayed signal being sent. So on console other attacks that are 400ms or less are just outrageously hard to react.
