Is it possible to return to this game after 2 years?

So, I played The Division at launch, put in around 50 hours reaching level 25.
I hated the DZ so only went in there once.
Got frustrated with the game generally and walked away in the summer of 2016.

But I heard it's now good, so I cranked it open, and I simply don't have a clue what I'm doing.

I've half a mind to just start again, though I don't know if that is even possible.

    Any suggestions?

EDIT: Aha, I see I can make a new character, I might do that and go through tutorial quests for a while, maybe returning to the other one later.

Sure it's possible, welcome back agent!

Starting fresh is a good idea, you learn a lot of basics that are necessary for end game. There are some really good beginners guides out there, I'm on mobile so it's a bit tedious to link them for you, but they shouldn't be to hard to find.

Above all, have fun playing again!

    Good call I think.

Died 8 times in the tutorial missions, so at least I feel I'm getting back up to speed...

My first agent had goofy glasses which I'm glad to be rid of.
And I 'seem' to have an awful lot of money in my wallet, maybe that preserves in a new playthrough from the old one?

You can now change glasses and other things at the appearance room in the terminal, money is shared though all charactors.

Don't forget if you need help just use utube 1.8 + videos and info on the net as so many changes I did stuff on my return that was obsolete.

ok, up to level 7 (playing solo).

Decided to do the first main co-op missions to start leveling up the main base.

I realize it's a 2-year old game but after no matchmaking bites at all, I had to complete the first mission myself.
    To be expected I guess.

Before you get to much farther, I give you this important tip!!!!

DO NOT, what so ever, TOUCH/TAKE any of the "White" missions or INTEL!

Save them until you get to Lv30, then go collect them once your in World Tier 5. Way more Exp, and waaaaayyyyy better rewards.

Get someone to help you do only the "Regular/Story" missions, then drag you through "hard/challenging".

Piece together a set of normal greens or a Gold set. Keep moving yourself up world tiers.

Once your in WT5, hit the LZ boss runs, which several of my YT vids show how to do in the first 30 minutes.

Gear up and start doing Legendary/Resistance with teams.

    Now your all set.

    Enjoy the game!

Here's a really good quick new players guide to get you going. Welcome back. Lots of fun stuff to do now if you've been away for awhile.

Matchmaking is lacking severely. Depending on the task, you can wait 1 minute to 30 min, or just try to solo it.

Find players in your TZ or online during your PT and friend them. That's what I do and run with them only as you will build a rapport and play style to those people.

    Enjoy!

    BTW, I run 0700 - 1200 Sun - Thr/ Fri - Sat all Day(unless son has baseball)

I am in Central Time Zone.

Hit me up: PSN: JohnWickHitman if you run that time slot.
