Okay two hours in. I was between 16 - 30 ping fighting packet loss and the ? Ping for half my games. I love that I can start my chains with my counters. New riptide strike. Wish that would go back to the old heavy punish. That things was spot on for dealing with assassins. The one big thing that has not changed at all (people are adapting to Orochi). I still have to use my zone as an opener. And play him less aggressively against turtles. He will lacks a true opener. Which sucks but I love what you have done so he's actually viable.

The orochi is actually much better now I find his storm rush to be the perfect opener I also find the new riptide better as it's faster the old one was sluggish

I love what they did to him. He isn’t quite A class but more of a B+ class. I feel that so long as ince there done with the reworks that all heroes fit between B to A tier the game will reach its peak optimal balance.

The new storm rush is great as a chain continue. If your first chain is done you go back to storm rush because most will think it only comes from your right. The faster riptide was at the cost of nearly a 50% damage reduction. Riptide if used well. Gave you a parry because you're baiting, or a free 40+ damage hit. With slip through and fear itself. You nearly one shot people. I miss the old mechanics and damage of riptide. But Orochi has no opener against a turtle still.

Like I said ~2 weeks ago (since announcement), it is just underwhelming.

    # You can light him out of his new Storm Rush - which is literally the move that got the best change, besides his addional chains (especially light-heavy, heavy-light mixups). Facing a character with all block (like aramusha) this move is better not to be used (cancel into gb is possible but clunky, but as I said, just light him). If not having an all block, guard left every time you see him go into storm rush, wait for him to get close, stay in guard, watch for atk from the right, if nothing happens, watch out for top atk. If nothing happens, leave your guard left. This way you can block this move like 80% of the time (with normal reactions), with more distance between you and him it gets even easier OR just light. :P
    # His 2nd most iconic move Riptide has a high telegraphed animation (far back dodge) and is now even more punishable (because it's a light now). It is only good vs a missing atk, and because of that it is still easy to bait out. In other words: Riptide got worse.
    # I didnt found any reasonable use of chain finisher into dodge... so far ... besides clearing minions.

Because he is more agile he feels more fun to play (because you can do stuff / chain mixups). Besides that nothing much has changed to his favour.
He feels more like an harasser now, but should be more like a technical and reactive oriented fighter - with a better 'opener' than new Storm Rush.
(like old Riptide -> soft cancel into Storm Rush Stance; or side dodge into atk -> soft cancel into Storm Rush stance; while being able to dodge out of Storm Rush stance)
Basically 50% of orochi's issues got fixed.

Edit: added # I didnt found any reasonable use of chain finisher into dodge... so far ... besides clearing minions.
Edit: added while being able to dodge out of Storm Rush stance

This is a first Impression so my view points might change in him. So far I like orochi’s rework. he doesn’t feel clunky to use. His combos feel much smoother. His guard maybe just me feels more responsive. My only issue I see being a problem in s his new rip tide and storm rush. Both seems to cover a lot more ground. Other than that he feels right.

Well to a degree yeah but it's better then nothing and his light chains can still be interrupted with a well timed light or unlockable. His heavy still require well planned and well excited timing he is better then he has been compared to last season's just got to learn your timing
