No. I don’t mean Zombies. Although I do like Zombies - for the fun threat they can pose in a game like this.
No. Not Zombies.
I mean, punishing. And unapologetic.
Everything in the game has a sense of purpose. Real weight and consequence. Every, weapon, item has purpose, and it feels intuitive.
The balls to make a more hardcore experience, risk potentially alienating mass appeal.
No easy mode. No regenerating health. No automatic ammo pick up..
No modern gaming ‘arcadey BS’.
Get wounded on this game, you have to find bandages, otherwise you bleed out. And more the zombies smell your blood and will track you.
There’s a coherence to the game design because it’s not trying to serve two masters.
There’s a commitment to a single vision.
Ubisoft take note.
Whether you mean to compare a zombie game to a tactical shooter or not, that single element pretty much effects every feature you're describing. It's easy to put more weight into every detail of the combat and game world when you're talking mindless horde enemies that need those kind of crutches because of their sheer stupidity Otherwise it would be far too easy.
In other words, those are survival game elements because it's an apocalyptic survival game setting, with brainless enemies.
Be cautious singing the praises of a game yet released. Last of Us on release was a shadow of what its promotional game play made it seem like it was going to be.
That being said, Wildlands does feel confused about what exactly it wants to be. A tighter focus on either being a balls-hard tactical sim or a gung-ho A-team adventure would have served the game far better than trying to do a little of both.
Yall have done it now!
Special operation 2: the horde.
Something in th coke is turning SB and civis into mindless violent creatures across all of (insert city name of choice). Your job, go in and neutralise them.
New vehicle, minibus with soiked bumpers and side panel armour.
New weapon, flame thrower!
I haven’t played Ghost War.Originally Posted by RedCeII Go to original post

Things like,
- Your loadout has weight, and effects movement speed. You would have max carry weight limit. So you would have to think what to take and what to leave behind.
- No BS Health Regen. Medkits and bandages. Getting wounded means you bleed, and bandages would be to stop you bleeding to death, and Medkits would restore 50% health, over a time. Healing would not be instant.
- Enemies would spot and be alerted to visible blood trails. Would track them.
- No automatic reload or ammo pick ups. The only ammo found in the world would correlate with the weapons the cartel use.
- Ghille suits increased stealth. And what you wear has a overall camouflage % in context of what terrain you’re on.
- Ai team would have perma death. If died you would have a pool of fresh recruits to choose from with more basic stats.
- and of course be able to have greater command options, RoE, individual orders etc. Be able to customise their load out. And they would gain experience over time.
I like better Red Cell idea.
Making me use Ghille suits just because it increases my stealth is stupid i can accept camo but not ghillie suits.
Health regen only applies to Fallen Ghosts so an option to lock certain perks is way easier to do.

What are we going to carry to even allow such feature? This isn't Skyrim where we can pick up everything and later use a chest to save that stuff, so i don't really see a use for it on GR.

An elite soldier to gain experience....please no.
Load outs should be limited only to the type of weapons they use. For example:
Weaver has the role of a sniper so he should only use sniper rifles.
There is health regen... what you talking about?
The screen pulsates red when you are hurt and then if you don’t take damage you recover... what are we elite soldiers who have a mutant healing factor like Wolverine???
It’s total BS for a game like this, to be about authenticity, and have health regen.
Operation Flashpoint Red River incorporated bandages to stop bleeding out and medkits - similar to what I’ve described. I’d prefer something like this.
GR isn’t an arcade shooter... it’s not COD.
And Ghillie suits in reality, are there to aid camouflage.
So you are saying you prefer Ghillie suits have no more effect on stealth than wearing a shirt, jeans and sun glasses?? That’s makes sense.
