So I finally got the game and I love it... however one thing I didn't really know about is almost game breaking for me personally and that's the extremely slow and delayed projectiles with all the rifles.
I can understand this for sniper rifles and maybe sub-machine guns. But shooting your carbine/AR with visible projectiles, flying slower than airsoft in rl feels and looks very bad... like it's a nerf gun, really bad!
After doing some research I learned the game only uses roughly 1/3 of real bullet speed for most of the calibers, I'd say assault rifles/carbines should at least have 2/3 of that and not a visible projectile at all, maybe sacrifice some accuracy for long range or whatever... I really hope this will be changed in the future, optional or not. The current rifles feel like a bad joke, even GTA bullets fly faster iirc.

It just feels wrong, like I am not actually shooting a real gun which is the reason why we play these games in the first place. Why is there even a crossbow if rifles already shoot like bow and arrow?
I kinda get that open world argument but it doesn't apply to Arma or say GTA, they could also decrease accuracy or whater to compensate and make it more realistic that way too. If I had known this, I wouldn't have bought this game tbh.
A slow flying fireball out of an assault rifle is just bad. I'd take more weapon sway or less accuracy over this nerf gun joke any day.
BTW, real suppressors actually increase velocity slightly![]()
