    Bullet speed is a joke...

So I finally got the game and I love it... however one thing I didn't really know about is almost game breaking for me personally and that's the extremely slow and delayed projectiles with all the rifles.

I can understand this for sniper rifles and maybe sub-machine guns. But shooting your carbine/AR with visible projectiles, flying slower than airsoft in rl feels and looks very bad... like it's a nerf gun, really bad!

After doing some research I learned the game only uses roughly 1/3 of real bullet speed for most of the calibers, I'd say assault rifles/carbines should at least have 2/3 of that and not a visible projectile at all, maybe sacrifice some accuracy for long range or whatever... I really hope this will be changed in the future, optional or not. The current rifles feel like a bad joke, even GTA bullets fly faster iirc.

Some one will come to explain to you why what you think is wrong is actually the way is supposed to be because compromises on an open world shooter game... or something of that sort that I am still struggling to understand but one thing is for sure... I also hated it.

people have been complaining about bullet velocity since alpha, same as you can shoot through concrete walls and sandbags but you can't shoot through leaves or sheet metal.

I've mentioned this gripe a few times as well. My real issue with is that it only applies to the player and nobody else. Your bullets take time to reach the target while enemy shots are absolutely instantaneous. Feels bad, man.

It just feels wrong, like I am not actually shooting a real gun which is the reason why we play these games in the first place. Why is there even a crossbow if rifles already shoot like bow and arrow?

I kinda get that open world argument but it doesn't apply to Arma or say GTA, they could also decrease accuracy or whater to compensate and make it more realistic that way too. If I had known this, I wouldn't have bought this game tbh.

A slow flying fireball out of an assault rifle is just bad. I'd take more weapon sway or less accuracy over this nerf gun joke any day.

BTW, real suppressors actually increase velocity slightly

the muzzle velocity doesn't bother me at all. when I'm playing close up it doesn't matter. when I'm sniping I love not using a suppressor just for the sound but I will make sure I'm not using one 350+ just to make sure the target doesn't have time to move.

It reminds me of shooting a 22.cal short..you can see them travel just about the same..lol

It just feels like a toy gun... I expect at least the illusion of a real gun that feels more powerful than this delayed mess... especially in a GR title.

What I have learn from this game is that if I want to enjoy it I gotta git gud and all of the other shooter games have done it wrong because this is the right thing to do on an open world shooter... at least the open world ones.
