Anyone got any tips to beat Shaman?

Hello guys, It's ya boy. Cadeau123. I was just wondering if my viking boys got any tips to deal with Shaman. The thing is that alot of heros can often destroy your HP in seconds but with alot of them you can stop it before it happens. But i'm having the problem with Shamans that just keep fainting, Stabbing, doing unblockables then fainting and more. Please help your homeboy Cadeau beat her like my dad beats me.

As a Highlander, I just trade hits with them with Hyper Armor. The other technique I use is instead of trying to parry her attacks, I just keep blocking until she runs out of stamina (most of them play so aggressively that they don't pay attention to their stamina), and once they are out of stamina, I start punishing with Caber Toss, Fomorian Kick and Balor's Might mix-ups.

If you see her start using her unblockable, don't try to parry or wait and see if she feints, just do a fast light attack. Whether she feints it or lets it go through, it's still slower than a light. As a Highlander, you can also Celtic Curse when you see her start her unblockable.

You just need to keep your calm. If you do that then you can avoid all her damage completely, headbutt? Dodge. Pounce attack? Dodge. Soft feint into guardbreak? cgb.
You just have to keep your calm at all costs, so that is all, lose your calm and her speed will get the best of you.

Shaman overall is a fairly well rounded character, so most tips for beating her will likely be character specific. I think the only real weaknesses the Shaman has is short range and a lack of a great opener. If you are playing a character with longer range, try to use that to your advantage. Because they don't really have a good opener, Shamans tend to play aggressively (like others have mentioned). They generally try to throw a few mixups at you back to back in hopes of landing a few attacks. This isn't to say that Shamans are weak, as they have a lot of soft feints and mixups, but you can play reactively and punish what they throw at you.

You can't just keep your calm and counter every move that's not how For Honor works. With headbutt you don't dodge, it can be feinted and if you dodge it every time you're an easy target for guardbreak. What you actually do is attack, even if it doesn't land, as long as you're mid attack shaman will for some reason headbutt you too far to follow it up. Pounce can also be feinted so you don't just dodge, pounce is pure guessing since you can't be safe if you get hit mid swing. A better option is unlocking and running backwards, trying to bait the pounce, which makes it more likely to not be feinted, which you can then try to attack them out of or dodge, but on either one if you guess wrong you'll be stunned long enough for the pounce to hit guaranteed. Soft feint into guardbreak isn't even a real complaint. It makes her risky to parry but no one complains about the soft feint into guardbreak as much as soft feint into bleed, which is just something you'll have to learn to block. These are all defensive moves anyway so it doesn't really answer how to beat her, which is completely circumstantial to your character. So you'll really have to learn your character, but generally her weaknesses are the different ways your hero can punish her moves.

I just keep hitting her switching my angles and gb no strategy at all. If it's a human they see they don't scare you easy and either taken enough damage they think twice and try to change up tactics and usually leave them selves open to being destroyed. Or run off to find easier prey who are scared of the dang dirt eating Mike Tyson wannabes.

Now as for robot versions they always seem to want to dodge to the left. Anticipate this action step and come down with a top heavy because they leave them selves open because of the missed dodge attack. I use raider allot and I honestly just light attack right left heavy faint to light tap heavy right wait for bot to step and down heavy and it's execution time.

A little late to the party, but I have been a Shaman main for a while (on xbox console, worth mentioning). Things that always get me dead - quickly- are:

1.) Hyper Armor. Shaman players love to use the dodge heavy attack, for whatever reason, usually because it interrupts the opponent and starts her chains. But it can't be feinted, giving the opponent a guaranteed parry or a landed dodge attack of their own, if they are fast enough to recognize it. Hyper armor eats up that dodge heavy attack as well and you can use it to take off a serious chunk of her health bar. Attacks that cannot be dodged work well in that regard, too.
2.) Light attacks. Someone already said with their highlander. She has no uninterruptables, which means even lights will trade or cut her off, without enough time to land a soft feint into bleed. I abhor Orochis for this reason.
3.) Blocking. It takes a little more patience and puts stress on your reflexes, but given that Shaman does not have any side dodge bashes, block shoves, kicks, or follow-up bashes after a hit, her only real options to get past a good blocker is a forward dodge headbutt, back dodge headbutt, or gb. If you manage to block just 2 of the soft feints into bleed, she'll be nearly out of stamina, and definitely looking for a different way to hit you. And out-of-stamina-Shaman is not a challenge by any means.

    Hope it helps.

Raider main returning player here and I feel like I've been getting wrecked by Shaman. It might've just been a single player, but yesterday it seemed like I was getting executed more by shamans (and hammer boi) more than anyone else.

I've never tried the shaman and know nothing at all about them except that they tackle you on the ground, bite you, and heal, except that I guess this only works once you're already bleeding? Every time I fight one I don't realize it's not a berzerker until I'm being executed.

Could anyone give me a run-down of their popular abilities/combos and how to identify them in-game? I recognize the head-butt that's being mentioned. I think that might be what has gotten me most of the times, headbutts are honestly my achilles heel cuz I'm not much of a dodger when I'm not playing an assassin.

go in to training mode and set the bot to shaman. you can even select shaman there yourself if you want to try her out a little. This is probably the best way for you to learn about her. Other than that look for guide videos on youtube for your rundown.
