PvP draws shouldn't exist
Let me start by saying I absolutely love this game. It's my favorite freemuim ever and I've played alot of them. Gave them all up for this one to play full time and am close to the point where I've spent more money it in then the others but for once don't feel like it's mostly a waste trying to get to top guild ranks that feel empty. That being said there is one major flaw that should be addressed. Currently if you run out of time in a match you get sudden death and if that fails it's a draw. Due to the way your contests work where only a win counts this is an inferior system that rests solely on the concept that it's the player responsibility to settle a match with the basic bar system for who broke more phones. And I love the update where it changed to phone amount. However, your match maker is great at its job. So good at it in fact that I have more draws some days then wins or loses combined. Knowing that my matches are even and that the winner will be the most skilled player with his cards is fantastic. But in a system of pairing for even matches you neglected the complexity of the match if both players are skilled enough to create a near deadlock game and at the same time making the very large portion of the game terrible to play for rewards when we have time on our hands but then end up with less then required due to these draws. This actually feels like we are being punished for not spending enough money or time to have a less then level playing field in a rank and players that drop levels ruining the competition are rewarded for playing the system by giving lower rank players boosts they haven't earned and players who have either draw or get an uneven match when rank droppers tamper with the flow. So then you end up matched again players too high in your normal ranks as well as in the lower while they farm wins. It then domino effects into tainting what is my favorite part of the game, the contest. Why would I chose to buy items to level up or even play campaign to level up contest cards I don't normally use for the competitions you work so hard to provide and make fun if that time was an investment that becomes a hole I threw my time into to advance only then to get slapped with draws. It would actually increase the strategy of the game if you had "win by judgement" rules in evenly matched games. Any player worth his rank would rather take a lose knowing they have equal chance to be on the other side of a decision win the next round rather then dreading a string of draws tripling time it takes to run PvP events and pack rewards. You can set it up so that the player with the least HP at the end of the sudden death match wins. Or you could calculate the amount of damage a player dealt and use that. If you really wanted to make the strategy of it more in depth adding both with equal point value to find a winner would then be a decision made evaluated on both attack and defense strategy leveling the playing field for players that would rather hold a rank through draws then risk thier rank on being a well rounded player. Even if this made me drop rank and lose more matches at the beginning id still rather know that's the reason and enjoy the game as it's intended then try to wish away an even match with no winner or a player that chooses to create a draw when they feel threatened on thier rank. I'm sure everyone would buy the players that want that safety net they built with cards that only block till they get a couple hits in or block till the south park students graduate college.
