I love the game, the game play, just about everything about the game except fot ONE THING!
I HATE the ending. In fact, I hate it so much that the second time I tried to play through the game I just gave up because there was nothing to look forward to. I believe it is in human nature to still desire victory over evil and you chose to not only let evil win, but left me in the hands of the most evil person in the game with no hope of survival. Why not give me the choice? I feel cheated in this game after pushing through the excitement of going thru the first three evil leaders. The game left me with no desire to play it again and I am the type of person who will play a good game through several times over.
Please reconsider... otherwise... I'm GONE.
@Doulosman,
You're not the only one who hated the ending(s). It made all the effort to free the regions, etc. seem pointless. It also made absolutely no sense to me. After liberating all of Hope County and with all of these people at your disposal, why would the deputy choose to confront Joseph alone? Also, how did all of his friends suddenly become captives when all of the cultists have already been purged from everywhere else in Hope County?
I'm not one that needs to have a happy ending in every game but this is one of those times it just didn't feel right at all. .....at least to me. It didn't help that I had problems with several other aspects of the game up to that point. While the ending wouldn't have impacted my decision to replay the game, the other shortcomings certainly did.
As for Ubi creating an alternative ending, I wouldn't hold your breath. IMO, it would take too much time, money and effort to do it and I doubt they would ever feel it's warranted. If anything, they will likely chalk up some of the negative feedback on this and take it into consideration for FC6.
I actually enjoyed the campaign, thought the map was gorgeous and the lack of towers really made me feel like I was in control of where I went. The side missions were satisfying and the NPC dialogue made the world really feel alive (Finding a stash or after a stranger told you it was just over the next ridge). That being said as the final mission played out I was getting excited as the ending neared, and the nuclear bomb really surprised me as I didn't expect that. Overall I had a good experience in the story, but when the credits started rolling with Joseph neither dead nor arrested and nuclear fallout ensuing, I was a little confused.
I was wondering why they would show the credits before the actual game ended, as I clearly needed to still deal with Joeseph and address the fact the Hope County had just been nuked. I thought it was really cool that they would allow for this world change after the final story mission. I logged back in right away to continue the hunt for Joseph, and what do I see. Not only no new missions, but the entire area hadn't even been nuked.
They literally bailed on their own ending because it would be too hard to turn all grass into burnt grass, and trees into dead trees etc. Well now they have a story that doesn't even have an ending. Joseph is just magically dealt with, and the world is magically better. Even worse there is nothing to do post game, almost all enemies are gone, even predators seem to spawn less.
I played Origins', Black Flag's, Primal's, and Far cry 4's stories multiple times respectively; however, there is no way I'm playing this one through again as the ending is so bad. Shameful that they gated SP content behind PS plus because once this month expires I'll be done with the game for good.
It started off making no sense. With all the people at Joseph's disposal, why did we go in with only 4 officers of the law to arrest him. ESPECIALLY with all the weapons in evidence and with the knowledge of what he did to our secret agent (How did that footage make it out for us to see BTW). Also it has always bugged me where did Hudson's shotgun go? We walk into the church and she is holding a shotgun we come out and she has given it to the Peggies. WTF?Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
It would have been a good ending if they committed to it. You can't have a game altering event take place (like a nuke going off) only to log back in to a peaceful Montana setting. Usually after I beat a game, I try to finish exploring what I haven't yet. But after 5 I just logged off because they completely ignored their own ending. If you're too lazy to follow through with it, write a different ending.
I have hard saved my save and will do the final missions just to complete the game for the acheivement but then I am going back to my save where I haven't completed Jacob or John's last missions so I can keep enemies around for the Live Events.Originally Posted by kingdjedefre Go to original post
I heard about how it ends and could give 3 ****s if I ever finish it for the sake of finishing it. To me if there wasn't an acheivement to be had I wouldn't even bother.
I was not that surprised or upset by the desolation and lack of post game content. I actually thought the bomb and race to the bunker was the good part of the ending.
My only problem with the ending is for the fight option, instead of Joseph giving you X amount of time to go before your Bliss tainted friends came after you, they insisted on it being an arcade shootout at the church. This is yet further proof that Ubi didn't give a rat's arse about offering proper stealth in the game. Not even Jess is reliable for stealth.
This game is FAR too arcade, with constant use of a mind control drug. The arcade shootout at the church was a horrible idea. The only good fantasy element in Ubi's Far Crys was Far Cry 4's Shangri la.
I agree. Why does everything have to end up in a bed of roses? I've got no concerns about the ending and especially liked the nod to Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove.Originally Posted by IDF777 Go to original post
I enjoyed the ending for the same reason. People really need to get over themselves with this. It’s a game!!Originally Posted by IDF777 Go to original post
