from everything i have read on this board, yes.

the 46 addon incorperates the last and latest patch, and has the new airplanes.
Tho im sure that some smaller game studios will create new misson and map packs (i can only hope).

after this, its time for BoB, and for people who are crying about not being able to run this at any level of detail, to start crying harder

From everything I have heard, there will be (most probably) a 4.08 final patch after '46.
Though for that patch to arrive, 46 has to be released first. Ah, Q2 2008 maybe

    Hi Guys,

    Certainly looking forward to 1946.

The only thing I can see missing (unless I've missed them elsewhere), Is the Gloster meteor MK1, 2, and 3, and the DH Vampire. They may as well be there, everything else is!

This has been a terrific series to follow and thoroughly enjoyable.

    Thankyou everyone.

    Alex

PS This has been a rarity with this game........A

    Bengal Out.

I like when a program takes on a life of its own like this, and both the devellopers and fans keep improving and adding onto it, keeping it alive and well- long after its been released.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

You didn't miss them. They aren't there.

The number and variety of planes that are in the sim is phenomenal, and that is easy to forget when you're waiting for 'glaring ommissions' to be added. Some people want a flyable B-17 or Lancaster for example, or a certain USN torpedo bomber. Not all planes and variants could ever be added, but it is fun to dream ...

Fun to dream of a flyable Typhoon Mk.IB ...

Fun to dream of a flyable Spitfire Mk.XIV ...

    Fun to dream of a P-47D-40 or P-47N ...<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

    Hi Skycat_2,

Totally agree. There are so many "It would be nice to have" aircraft.

Personally I am quite happy with what is already in game. I don't think I'll ever have the time to fly them all, but I sure am having fun with what's there. (Just how do you land a Spitfire Mk VIIIc without breaking its undercarriage? ). &lt;-----Veady, Veady carefully.

This game has already reached the stage of one of those rare classics that will stay on my PC for a long time to come, well after it has been supperceeded by later developements. (SOW). I only have one other, "Panzer General 2". How's that for a blast from the Past?

Well into the local PC gamers store next week, and hope that 1946 is there ready for me.

    Have fun everyone,

    Alex

    Bengal, Out.

LOL Phil!!!!!! You're absolutely right concerning the large hard drives. I've got 4 HD's on my system (3 video editing scratch discs) and they take forever to defrag.

No one ever mentions that when they tout the latest and greatest for Hard Drive specs. LOL

I wonder if VISTA will have an improved defrag system.
