Not super sure that an abundance of obscuring foliage is an upgrade to a multiplayer map. The saturation in the original works well with the plain red texture choice, but when you tone down the saturation and change the lighting, it makes the red textures stand out like a sore thumb.
AW you've been around this community long enough to know for a fact that taking another person's map and saying (paraphrasing) "Look, I improved your work because I know better than you" is extremely rude and disrespectful to the original creator.
And as DapperHayden007 pointed out, the reason you're doing this seems very obvious.
- You picked this map specifically (one of the best looking maps recently featured) to "improve visually"
- Considering how often you frequent this board, your claim about not knowing it was their map seems very unlikely
- And last but not least, your very public "issues" with DapperHayden007 are no secret.
I don't really have time to do anything but lurk these days, but I HAD to comment on this... Dude, stop bumping your same map to the first page with pointless "updates" all the time and stop the childish feuding with fellow mappers. Complain about the game all you want to Ubisoft, but you don't have to tear the mapping community apart also.
Im sorry but you are mistaken my friend. im just trying to help people. if someone wants to do the same with my maps, i welcome the help, maybe it will give me more ideas for my maps. anyone is free to have a go at upgrading a scene in my maps. who knows, i may like the results. the good thing about fc5 is the fact we can update published maps., so if someone upgrades a scene in my map, and i like it, i can update it with the new visuals, job done.Originally Posted by TheRealDrewdelz Go to original post
The map is great with or without the more realistic look though. Maybe upgrade maps where you see some creativity from an inexperienced mapper. I've helped quite a lot of people behind the scenes improving their maps.
I do like to see the competitive spirit in map-making though, its a positive thing not a negative thing imo, but saying you can upgrade an experienced map-makers map can get peoples' backs up.
