Chinese element for Samurai. (Suggestion) | Forums

I think Ubisoft might want to add some new element other than Japanese soldiers into the Samurai. The Vikings already have Highlander, which is a Scottish. And Gladiator and Centurion were been added in the Knights, but they are Roman soldiers. Therefore, I suggest Ubisoft add a brand new force into the Samurai. No offenses, but if you really think about it, during some dynasties in China, Japan actually tribute to the Chinese emperor, so ancient China were like big brother of ancient Japan. Also in the For Honor background history, samurais are the weakest forces of all three forces. So it will make totally sense to me if the Chinese emperor sent his soldiers to help out and support the Samurais. Besides, keep adding new elements in to the game can really bring back some old players. Only new things can attract consumers and I think adding some Chinese elements can really hype players around the world, especially Chinese players. All of us would like to see more new faces and weapon and play style been added in to the game don't we. I personally like the Chinese halberd and spear very much, and I can't wait to try them in the game.

Also, what unit would be a Chinese Hero?

From what I understand the Chinese usually fought with overwhelming numbers of common soldiers and didn’t have many specialists and officers over your standard commanders and generals.

Unless it’s a martial artist, but then which one because there are MANY disciplines in China alone, and how will that work in a game of spiked and bladed weaponry?

Also, there were a huge number of visionary, historically significant warriors in china that were more than common soldiers. Using Halberds and crazy weapons. Watch the movie red cliff and that tells a story of a historical Chinese battle. Also, they were huge into strategy and forecasting weather (super important back in the day) so there could be some cool fear ideas around that

actually, there are various weapon in ancient China, and Nobushi's weapon is not a spear, it is a Naginata. A Chinese spear is more likely to be a centurion blade on a vakrie spear with feathers on it. Also, all the regular soldiers in ancient China have pretty much same weapon indeed, but generals have much different weapon. Usually, they have a sword with them, but back than, generals more prefer polearms. As I said, there are spears, halberds, and long blade， which is more similar to the naginata but the blade is much bigger. Finally i have to mention that the Chinese halberd is NOT what you find in wikipedis, or Lubu's halberd. It is like a double edge spear with a upside down sickle on the bottom of the spear blade, so its nothing like lawbringer, the main uses of this weapon is to cut, stab, and chop.

Yeah but we already have characters that use similar weapons, so there’s no call for another spear user or a halberd wielder.

You’ll need to mix it up to keep them from becoming like “Nobushi but no bleeds” or “Lawbringer but less Tanky”.

And what are you gonna call them cuz “General” won’t work.

I don't particularly have an opinion one way or another but I did come across a video a while ago of a guy demonstrating tessenjutsu with a warfan and dagger so found that again, some execution worthy moments here as well.

It seems the fan is about parrying then using the fan as leverage going by kata and demonstration vids I saw looking for it so something guardbreak or parry punishwise maybe (though care would need to be taken not to turn it into centurion mark 2)

Though a parry-centric character might be interesting, looks like it’d be an Assassin hero and do we really need more of them?

But you can't deny that Aramusha is pretty much a two katana orochi without armor. So, weaposn doesnt bother, does they? What important is the playstyle. FINALLY, of course the name bot going to be "general" no heroes in For Honor named as their career, except for two roman soldiers. I'm just sharing ideas.

If they are going to venture from the actual samurai cast like they did with Shinobi, I'd sooner they picked a bandit or gambler house thug who technically has a katana but really just fights like a dirty *******.
