What Ubisoft Com Devs do: interview with the GR community manager for Wildlands
This is an interview, originally from a French website about gaming jobs, that featured Emma Delage who was the Community Manager for Wildlands for the last three years. She has now taken a job as an associate producer at the studio. With some help from Google Translate and Superbiscot, who posts here from time to time, we translated the interview and got permission to repost it in English on Rocky's GR Net website.
I know some will be cynical - what is ithe saying about cynics; they know the price of everything and the value of nothing - but as Com Dev, backed up by the Community Reps such as Keeba and the other guys here, Emma put the voice of us fans at the front and centre of the development. She was the one that organised the meeting with Yves Guillemot that took place over breakfast and where, I believe, the company became committed to allowing a beta. After this meeting, the name of fan the group became The Breakfast Club, and it is referenced in-game by the Morning Fans t-shirt with a crioissant on it. The legal team wouldn't allow Breakfast Club due to copyright issues.
Emma also made sure that everything the fans say is collated and sorted and made sense of, so that the Dev team always knew what was important to all the fans. Her team shared in those values and we can now see the results of that work with recent, significant changes driven by feedback.
