Reduce effectiveness, no, and turning them off would be the same as just not collecting or applying skill points wouldn't it? Really kinda makes it a non issue it seems.
In a way I could see it if you wanted to change skill allotment, but in my experience it takes a good full play through just to know how you want them, thus you could easily just apply them differently or not use them at all next play through.
It seems to me most that play it love this game so much they want it to be everything they could ever dream of, without realizing or caring whether past GRs had what they're requesting. I imagine the devs are simultaneously flattered and overwhelmed by it all.
At the end of the day though, what it comes down to is prioritizing what is most requested and most practical to implement. Sorry guys, I just don't think this is one of those things.
Yeah, you need a full playthrough to fully understand how the skills impact the game. Problem is if you have upgraded your character and realize that those skills overpower him/her than you need a completely new character, but the new one will have all of Tier 1 locked - rewards and levels - as well as all weapons and weapon parts.Originally Posted by Frag_Maniac Go to original post
Its not a huge deal but it is still annoying that you can't downgrade the character to fit the difficulty that you want to play and your character is stuck with skills that make the game too easy and fill up your inventory with things you never use. For Task Forces players who want to have each one playing a certain role with specific upgrades, this also means having specific characters for it instead of being able to adjust on the fly depending on who is playing or if they want to switch.
I agree, that would be nice.Originally Posted by Klaymond Go to original post
IMO Tier One mode solves the too easy problem. Granted you pretty much have to use stealth to make Tier One manageable, but that's what Ghosts are about.Originally Posted by biomag83 Go to original post
I can pass this request along, as it's another interesting way to fine-tune the experience you want. Thanks!Originally Posted by chocolateholic1 Go to original post
Exactly..... I also have (or had) others that preferred different playstyles. Some with restrictions on what skills were enabled, etc. It would be nice to be able to adjust skills to suit the preferences of a team and/or for solo sessions. Sometimes I might just want to mix it up and try something different from time to time to see how I like the gameplay with different combinations to increase the challenge, etc.Originally Posted by biomag83 Go to original post
I reached T1 once and have zero interest in ever activating that mode again. ......for several reasons. IMO, the core gameplay formula is way more fun.
We're not asking for the wheel to be reinvented here or trying to push a mechanic on those who have not interest in it. We just want the option to be able to "undo" and reapply skill levels once unlocked. For a such a simple option, it can have a great impact on the way the game plays. ....and with the ability to adjust skills on the fly, it can really help people (those who are interested) in creating / testing different gameplay experiences (fast and easy).

For such a relatively simply thing (that uses existing components / mechanics already in the game), you can really change the gameplay experience by just experimenting with turning off various skills.
