Anyone here ever encounter a run around torpedo in game?
I havent heard of anyone but I just encountered one in the stock game. launched two torpedos from stern tubes. They both turned but only one straightened out the other kept turning in a 360 circle.

It's very common to have circle running torpedoes and many have lost a boat to them, even in real life.
I believe it was the Tang, or maybe the Barb, was hit by one of it's own torpedoes.
Someone here will correct me soon, there are experts on this sort of stuff here.
I personally have had only one in 2½ and it was, fortunately, a dud.

I was lucky myself. I never seen it before or heard of it happening in game. I know ive heard about them in real life happening. Thankfully when it did it to me in game the turn was a sharp one so the torpedo went into a fairly tight circle. Closest it came to hitting me was about 250 - 400 yards.

Circle runners not only happened in the real deal, they happen in game too.
The USS Tullibee was hit with a circle runner... One survivor.

Thats good to know. I might need to make sure to dive now after launching to be safe. I didnt have any warning that I had a circle runner untill I went to external view for taking screenshots and I saw it.
I just dont recall anyone claiming it was in game till now. I guess I never paid attention to that or maybe that was SHIII that didnt have circle runners and had people wanting it implimented.

I've had circular runners many times. My favorite was when of them hit the my namesake while on patrol and it was then that I heard those immortal words, "Torpedo is a dud, Sir". I laughed until tears where streaming down my face.
