I replied to another topic on this but decided I should make my own here just to be thorough.
I Just received a message today that my Division account has been banned forever. My account was hacked and someone changed my username (hence the stupid name I'm posting under) which I cannot change for another 30 days. My original username was Tamuril88. Once I discovered I was hacked (I went to play Wildlands and my friend happened to point out my name had changed) I made steps to not only reset my password but also enable two step authentication. I assumed that I was safe!
Yesterday I had two e-mails from Ubisoft within minutes of each other stating that I had requested a password reset but it wasn't me. However due to the authentication I had enabled this person could not gain access to my account again. That being said, today I get an e-mail telling me that I am just completely banned from The Division, I can only assume this hacker decided to use my account to cheat in some way and not bother to even hide it.
So my account gets hacked, I solve it as soon as I noticed but now I have to suffer a pemanent ban because of something someone else did? I have the e-mails still of the password reset requests which were never followed up on (proving that I did not ask for it!) and you can clearly see that I took steps to protect MY account. If Ubisoft is simply going to ban someone because of a security failure and offer no appeal then I for one will no longer support this company nor recommend it to anyone I know.
Its funny I was just thinking that myself, might want to check your account security or could end up being banned like me!
Also I have submitted a support request, but looking into similar scenarios I am not hopeful for a good result. Most I have seen is people being told they are banned and that is that, I suppose the saving grace is I haven't been banned on other games as of yet. Though I find myself wondering what was even done to get me banned in the first place, my own fault for not enabling two step authentication when it was available I guess...
was just light humor, i know you're frustrated...Originally Posted by IlIllllIIIlllll Go to original post
No worries I figured as much. Though with the other person having a more less identical name to me, can't help but wonder if we were both compromised by the same person, or if that was the person who stole my account.Originally Posted by Eeskie2982 Go to original post(I'm joking of course...unless he did steal it in which case I'm not!)
OP please submit a customer support ticket here so they can further investigate the situation for you. Closing thread.
