If the console allows you to use a M&K then why not use it? Do you complain about people using the attachable keyboard for the controller if someone types a message faster?
Personally I don't use a M&K as it's not a standard piece of hardware (out of the box talking) and I'm not interested in using them either... it's not cheating I've not seen anyone banned by battle eye for plugging in some equipment. Fact is people are adapting... thumb grips for the analog sticks was deemed MLG until everyone gets them... now we have scuff controllers or elite controllers.
Technology is advancing...
It is not about who's fault it is, it's Ubisofts and our game to make sure it provides a level playing field.Originally Posted by Celron_Miles Go to original post
It's very easy to detect MKb cheaters ingame software wise and you'd instantly understand the method when I tell you.
However, part of the strategy is not telling anyone what it is to prevent cheaters circumventing it even though I believe it is not possible to circumvent the method unless you're not cheating anymore. The strategy involves publicly (ingame) announcing the illegality of the MKb usage on consoles to prevent any misconception and give those who act of knowing nothing a chance to step out of the wrong. The same message involves announcing a ban wave at a certain moment. Everyone that got detected during the period will get sanctioned at the same time in a way it is not attractive to play with MKb anymore. This way it is impossible for cheaters to know for certain what got them detected and this acts as an extra deterrent.
The only reason Ubisoft hasn't implemented this method yet is because everyone overlooked this solution or they don't care and apply the silent treatment on this matter on purpose.
The illegality is not a discussion as stated in the first post. Game developers can set their own rules ingame. The console manufacturers have nothing to say in that department other than that they provide the platform. Fortnite natively allows MKb usage on consoles (try it), R6 doesn't. In this case everyone agreed to the EULA which explicitly state it is forbidden to circumvent the intented way of playing through usage of external software (eg Xim). Besides, Ubisoft already declared what is intented and what not (eg MKb) hence my first post. I do agree Ubisoft must be more clear of this as you are not unique in having this misconception. It is due to their passive approach the game got this toxic in the first place.Originally Posted by phatt0n Go to original post
Anyways, I have the solution to detect these cheaters and the strategy involves giving the cheaters a chance to roll back which is far too lenient already as Ubisoft can enforce ban waves without any warnings.
Ok then yes Ubisoft needs to update the launch screen that clearly states "MKb must not be used, controllers only" are we drawing the line yet? Or shall they ban elite controllers because they have extra keys?Originally Posted by Aenigmatista Go to original post
I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you've either been abused by someone with a MKb and lost rank.. or it happens alot / banned recently
All I can see is talk talk talk about you having the solution (are you Jesus?) why haven't you posted it? Made a tutorial about it? Are you looking for your 13 seconds of fame?
Are you wanting everyone with a MKb to beg you to not reveal this?
You are basically "trolling" Ubisoft here (Hey, I have the answer to stop racism... but I'm not going to tell you..)
I call BS.
Pz out
Why don't actually start reading the before replying? The line whether it is cheating has been drawed by Ubisoft, see the first post. I agree they should make it more public to prevent misconceptions.Originally Posted by phatt0n Go to original post
Why don't I post the solution right here? Because, for obvious reasons, I don't want cheaters to circumvent the method. For all what matters (counterstab in the dark?) you're using MKb yourself as you're suggesting a grey area which clearly doesn't exist - like all MKb users do -.
Keep it civil.
I personally would prefer ban systems over native MKb support but I see your point. I think the game is more interesting when everyone plays with a controller as lightning reflexes have less of an emphasis on the meta.Originally Posted by Suby_Greg Go to original post
Lets say that you do have a sure fire way to detect and remove mousers on console, super duper. But where did you get your facts from? Where are your stats that show what percent of players plague us with m/k usage?Originally Posted by Aenigmatista Go to original post
And if Diamond and Plat1 is really the only problem, then it's such a small majority of players that who really cares? I mean, personally, I would rather not have my team wash out half way through the second round than to not get my teeth kicked in by some dude with a Naga. Could we take care of things like that before we castrating the guys with m/k whom probably would end up kicking my teeth in anyways? Better yet, just keep those guys up there in Plat1 and Diamond to themselves (along with anyone who has a high tk counter!).
But good luck on your secret mission, which btw, the Ubi-Crew can accept private messages too, might want to give that a shot if you want to keep this on the low. Just saying.
