Commendation Progress really should be shared...

So, me and my girlfriend play the game quite regularly, because we like it. However, we have noticed that she racks up progress on commendations a lot slower, noticeably now with the Global Event up where we were racking up kills for the 500 shocked kills mask.

I managed to get all 500 kills done and got myself the mask. She's only 1/4th of the way done with the progress, probably because I go in and kill everything I see with extreme prejudice. Why isn't the progress shared?

They really should make it as such. I mean, we both put in the legwork to kill bad guys, why shouldn't we get the same benefits just because I land the final blow on the bad guy? She didn't even get the mirror ball patch after I shocked an entire corridor of bad guys.

I consider this to be a total oversight actually.

It does kind of suck, but it's not surprising. It's the way the game was designed (Health on Kill, various weapon talents, etc. all require landing the killing blow). It's not surprising that the system they've set up to count in-game kills has the same requirement.

i dont really see it that way, certain commendations are team based but some are not. Maybe quit being so gung ho and say "sweetie, ive got my kills, go whack that dude while i throw some cover down." Not trying to be argumentative but think of it like this, we are on the same soccer team, you score a goal, in the stat line after the game should i have a goal under my name as well, i mean, we were on the same team fighting the same battle, only thing you did was get the last touch on the ball that actually put the ball in the net.

Yeah, I think it should be % of damage done to an enemy, not just the killing blow.

Still one would have to earn the %.

I try to help my wife when she plays, but when we take on the harder stuff we need to .... I eventually just have to start killing stuff.

That's a fair analogy, but in soccer, they also keep track of Assists. Where is the Division-equivalent of that? The player who gets the "goal" gets all the glory, the player(s) who made the "assist" get a big fat nothing.

Not true, you still completed the mission together or whatever it is you were playing and got whatever rewards were for said mission. Ill use survival Hunter kills to game relate it, we know its the final blow that gets the hunter kill but the other teammates still get the caches and rewards once you extract. Just not the kill. Plus we all know there are a bunch of loser hacks out there that would join missions and just sit in the back collecting commendations if they were all team based. I get what yall are saying though, i just think some things have to be based on the individual and not team.

Its SOP. Afterall whoever is the gung-ho, alpha type will always get more kills. I noticed this from day one of commendations release as I usually played reclaimer back then. So basically any support or low FA build is going to suffer unless youre pred I guess. It also depends on the map ofc. Snipers & LStars on TSR for instance can do alot better SMG or AR carrying builds.

Its just the way of things and another sign that the game may claim to have coop based gameplay but in reality the design from the top down is for power builds, alpha types and the usual things that make up pvp video gaming. You dont have to like or agree with it but there it is.

This feedback is something we've noted as there have been some frustrations with not getting the killing blow, but TD has always consistently operated this way. There are ups and downs to the system, but this method ensures players are actively earning Commendations themselves and inspires some teamwork in the mix as well.

ummmm not all the time UbiAmper. Remember the GE commendation to Kill 300 Riker bosses? Players had that commendation done on the first day- by spamming the games mechanism on WT1 in Lexington. Why because only the killing bullet counted - no sharing of the kill despite putting rounds into Larae and assisting on the kill. This GE - the Panda mask was on Players faces 2 hours into the GE- by spamming the games mechanism on WT1 in Hudson Yards. I would prefer to see players earning the commendations over players spamming. TD has "forced" solo players into teaming up and when they do so for GE activities normal team sharing activities like Weekly task activities removed. All in all in agree with the OP commendation progress should be shared when in a group as with normal weekly activities e.g. Kill 50 Rikers. When in a team a Player A kills a RIker Player B shares that kill towards their activity count requirement

"Assist counts as kill". If you do 50% or more of the damage but someone else gets the kill, you both get the kill.

    Battlefield 4 for the win.

The way it is now does not "inspire teamwork". It demands solo play.
