Blasphemy... the game was finished & fun to boot, we don't know what you are talking about. We even listened to the community and came out with various enhancements to the game. Pffft.Originally Posted by CarolinaFrog Go to original post

Now, i will resume my words to not make a huge post.
1. But many don’t specially if we are talking about Ghost Recon.
2. Yes, you can get some helis from safehouses (some not all of them) but you will end up losing them anyway making easier to use a car and fast travel which is my point, there isn’t much variation to begin with. The rebel drop is just unrealistic and stupid I personally don’t like it.
3. “Hell, even in Far Cry 4 you had to travel quite a ways to the far north of southern Kyrat just to get a decent sniper rifle, but it was an epic journey and one worth taking.
On Far Cry you are a nobody, you don’t have resources, so it makes sense that you have to upgrade and find your own equipment. Here however we are a special operations team, it doesn’t make sense that we need to go and find our equipment...but then again, they need to fill up the open world to have something for you do in it.
4. If you don’t like synch shots then we can talk about the thermal vision on the drone which requires level 15, of course that you could get there fast but that wasn’t my point. On Ghost Recon Future Soldier synch shots are available from the beginning because it makes sense, here for some reason we can’t use our other 2 teammates and that’s my problem the so call “freedom” limits a gameplay mechanic which was available from the start on the previous game.
5. Here it is a visual cheat because people need guidance with the open world, of course previous games had them but was limited to LoS only for both you and your team and it was a way to acquire intel, you could see what type of weapon the enemy was using and their health, it was useful, here it isn’t. Your teammates can see through walls and the enemies stay with the clouds above their heads even if you lose LoS because here you go another great idea from Far Cry another open world game.
6. The point of making visibility a chore is to add a gameplay changer.
7. You agree and then started talking about this: They ARE listening to feedback and addressing many of the more requested fixes. This is not just because the dev team cares, it's because the publisher end of Ubi is granting more freedom. That’s why I said it doesn’t tell me anything how much they are listening now vs before which again is what all companies do now a days.
8. It doesn’t justify terrible AI
9. Skills, gear and weapons that I should have from the beginning that previous games that are also Ghost Recon’s had everything unlock from the beginning. I don’t hate RPG features I hate RPG features on game that don’t belong to. Story related collectables I like them but everything else? No.
10. You just mention above Far Cry 4 :/ and didn’t you just describe Ghost Recon Wildlands? Because they are using the exact same formula. You need to free regions from top cult members and later kill their leader, here we do the same.
11. Mimic the effect of James Bond movies? LOL the only Ghost Recon game that had Hollywood type of scenes was Future Soldier, so a game that isn’t open world can have non- Hollywood scenes. GRAW 2 is a great example, the main part of the game you spend it around of multiple real life locations of Juarez but the first mission takes you out to Chihuahua ( a city near Juarez) we also travel to places outside Juarez with again real locations (locations you don’t want to go near at in real life, most of those places are controlled by cartels) then we travel two times to El Paso Texas, another City near Juarez. Previous games probe that not because they are more “linear” experiences it means you are going to have Hollywood over the top moments you describe. Those games offer a good amount of freedom and they are more enjoyable than Wildlands.
Obviously we are not trying to change each other opinions you have yours and I have mine, and my opinion is that the game could be done a lot better if we get a mix of both worlds. I Imagine a game like the future Ghost Recon:
Lots of different open real life locations, weapons unlocked from the beginning, no skill unlocking, better AI, diamonds that disappear if you lost LoS, minimalistic HUD elements now that we don’t have to go to one point of the map and the other and a different plot. Even if they do it open world I still hope they do everything else, lets stop that level up non-sense, we are tier 1 operators for f*** sake.
Again i like Wildlands i got the Ghost Edition that cost me around 100 US and i enjoy the game but i could enjoy it even more if they did what i previously mention.
I think it's fine to have sensible unlockable progression like ability to carry more grenades, ability to unlock flashbang, etc. I mean, I'd rather have it that way than seeing Grenade Damage Level 1, Level 2, etc progress system.
That said, things like Stamina, Hipfire Spread, Vehicle Damage, Vehicle Bullet Resistance are the things that I really prefer to get removed. Especially those that turn something to have infinite usage.
Stuff like Stamina can be flat out the same for everyone and will be reduced depending on the guns players are carrying. Meanwhile other things like Hipfire Spread can alternatively be done with proficiency level that will increase when you are using a weapon. This will make things like this to be more natural.
1. I translate 5+ Million sales more as many do, than many don't. Fan forums always have a certain size clique that is never satisfied with a lot of things, yet many of them admit they like the game. That's not a bash, just my take on what I've seen said. I pass it off as I have said many times that the more you love a game, the more you're disappointed about all the little things you prefer be a different way. It's called gaming passion.Originally Posted by LoneSpymaster Go to original post
2. It doesn't matter if you lose them. All you have to do is remember which ones have helis and fast travel to them. Cars, especially ones durable like the armored SUV, are very slow. They are not nearly as practical for things like getting to a convoy, which cannot be fast traveled to with close proximity because they're always moving. Fast traveling to heli equipped safehouses is a very common and viable way of holding out until helis are unlocked as drop vehicles.
3. This point as I already said was a matter of design decision, and it comes down to whether you're OK that a game version of ghost combat has scavenging and adventure. Many feel it adds to the experience, I'm sorry if you thought it was supposed to be milsim, but no GR game ever really has been. They're more near future sci fi meets action adventure than milsim.
4. I'm just saying it's not the grind you make it sound to fully max it. Hell, each of the 3 times I've played through the game I think I had it fully unlocked before I finished the level 1 Itacua province. If everything in games were taken so literal there would be very little variety and too much predictability and repetition.
5. I was referring to what the PLAYER can see, not the AI. This if anything should be more the way to look at the plot a path GRs, because after all, it's the player doing even more of the work there, not the AI. This is what I mean by vision cones being a cheat, for the player, not the AI. You keep wanting to make things in GRW sound unrealistic, such as certain skills not being available from the start, yet you only mention sync shots, gear and weapons in your example, as if OK with the rest. You're OK with a system where the squad has to be told every step to take. I could just as well say where's the elite training there, if they don't even know how to safely take a go to command? I'm not saying this way is the only way to do it, just that I prefer it. Neither style mimics true military personnel, not by a long shot.
6. And I'm saying that makes more sense in cinematic, linear games like Spec Ops The Line. In a game like this, if you have sand storms randomly kicking up all the time, it's going to really mess with your ability to take tactical command of the situation. Plus what about the AI? You've already accused them of being able to see through walls, yet seeing through a sandstorm is somehow OK? Again, I see it as a reasonable compromise, for everything from more reliable tactics, to better frame rates.
7. Oh really, literally ALL pubs take feedback seriously and make significant changes and add year two support? Love to live in that world, but I'm afraid it's a fantasy at this point.
8. What does mentioning yet again your opinion of the AI have anything to do with how open world is defined? If anything that's getting even farther off the subject.
9. And like I said, a matter of opinion. Strange you're OK with so called AI that have to be told every step to take, yet if the player has to do any skill progression, suddenly it's a bust. And like I said, story collectibles ARE RPG features. It's just another way of being selective about likes and dislikes, like a fair weather fan. It's one thing if you say you prefer something else, but when you insist it's bad game design, when others you like have just as many impractical quirks, that's taking it too far. In reality it's just design you don't prefer.
10. You were talking about the plot of FC5, I was only referencing vague similarities in weapon gathering, as a ways to example a common staple of open world design and how weapons are gathered in them. Not really the same thing. Granted it rubbed me the wrong way because I happen to think it's the plot they screwed up most in FC5, but still, it has zero to do with talking about how skills and world are designed.
11. I never said ALL linear games have big cinematics, more that it's become an increasingly popular staple of them. Plus it's kinda funny how you example Future Soldier as one that DOES have them, when it's been your go to reference for how sync shots should be done. It happens to be one of the main GRs I was thinking of when making the comment about linear often equaling cinematics. I'm now wondering just how many things you DON'T like about FS? Anyways, again, your opinion of what's more enjoyable. I happen to disagree.
Yep, agree to disagree. I know it is not perfect, the main thing I disagree on is that it's not as good as past GRs. I feel it's better, even the way it is.
My opinion on what I want from GRW2 hasn't changed:
GRW + proper squad commands + realistic inventory in a new location. No going back to old GR as beyond squad controll from the first one there is nothing I want to see from those titles, especially no small linar levels nor small open world locations like Metal Gear V had. Rather add the inventory and squad recruitment from Hidden & Dangerous 2 to make it a more immersive and intense single player experience and less dependend on coop for depth.
Been a consistent player of division & now Im shifting to GRW.. I really enjoyed the game and I hope theres more content into it. more PVE stuff... maybe also a base or lobby where who can see other players online? online open chat would also help to see shoutouts... Lastly I saw the impact to players wanting to get the R6 Siege Icons (Mute, Ela, IQ)... I hope ubisoft would consider a cool 3rd person tactical shooter of R6 Siege...
You mean Year 2. -- It's released! The content is inbound.Originally Posted by MasterTroll.. Go to original post
If they do a second GRW. I hope they do a slidely look to other well funktional features,
4 player openworld is, in my opinion, a very entertaining gamemodel and should stay for the next one.
the equipment and skills are to much. to do your charakter special you should be able to "specialise" your charakter . if you can make a super soldier its kind of boring. and their only way to make its interesting again is to make the enemies super soldiers too "tier1". i am anoid of tier one because ist totaly unfair if you need 10 bullets and the otherone just a second to kill-.-
make fast travel ... not teleportation ... jump out a plane or get seated by a bus. don't just apear in worst case in middle of unidat patrols.
cast of vehicle.. teleportation again. make them fall down or brought by a rebell (like mgs5) and where i want it... not across a river or in enemie base -.-
make a car horn. enough said.
what i like is that there aren't any borders in coop. one can distroy an entire cartelcastle wihle another one can make 15km away another mission. you can make air support by flying shortly strait over an area without care about distance to your teammates(unlice fc5 "wasted potential -.-)
make it fun to create a own charakter like: you can wear 2 main weapons but you are slower, you can make a nearly naked person but you are a oneshot. make it full costumizeable.
weapon stats: a sniperrifle is a sniperrifle. if they are using the same ammo why they are making differernt damage. because of fire mode? and why is a 6X scope the max a sniper should see where he shots. make a 12X scope and i am satisfied ^^
sorry for my english. its bad. all in all I say GRW is already a nice game I playeyd it since the beta came out and i am a big fan^^ looking foreward for a second one.
and all who hate GRW.... go play your cod or darksouls again, you are wrong here. <3
