Was surprised to see PK and Orochi up for reworks next.

If I was a Shugoki main i'd be up in arms :')

orochi looks insane now, but no valk rework? I think PK and orochi were useable anyway but did need a rework but I think valk needs the rework much more desperately. IMO

Valk doesn't need a big rework, she mostly needs some number changes. A damage increase across the board, her light chains need a slight speed boost and when using the spear sweep she needs to be less vulnerable on a miss. Perhaps her dodge attacks improving.

    Just my opinion though.

They said they've been shadow saving player's looted gear ever since the winter event so I would assume the memory of our looted items will go at least as far back as then.

Seems like they're moving away from the original intention of certain characters though. Both Orochi and PK were pegged as counter attackers but have both had their offence boosted somewhat majorly, with little or no adjustment to their defensive or counter attack capability.

Too early to tell I guess but just first impressions. I hope we don't end up with a whole roster of super-speedy attackers with bucket loads of mix up's. Happy to see no unblockables added mind.

Yeah that is why Peacekeeper is no longer my locked in assassin pick, I have felt for a long time that the meta way to play her goes against her stated identity as a counter attacker and the way I try to play her, to be honest the fact that I don't light-light that often in favour of looking for her dodge on reaction or deflect means that I've had a big chunk of how I play hit and I would have to relearn her in order to work the dagger cancels in.

Question is if they're willing to put forth the effort to do so or if they're going to make everyone have to wait for the events to recycle through.

Sweet, that's pretty much when I started playing For Honor anyway.

I am disappointed over this year of for honor. Season 5 was acceptable to have no new characters, just like season 1, but season 6 with no new characters? Ubisoft do you know how terrible that feels for gamers like myself. I wished for a game like for honor for 7 years, and now y'all are screwing it up. I have to wait 2 more months for characters to be in the game. If I die between those 2 months, than why even bother playing for honor anymore man... I'm so disappointed on the choice y'all made for season 6 guys, and y'all decided to buff the crap out of an already overpowered character, the peacekeeper, my most hated character who i still cant believe is still a character in the game, and im rep 128 in total so I know. If for honor continues like this, forgive me y'all, but I won't bring myself to play it ever again. It hurts me to say that because I love the game so much and so does my best friend. I've said enough. Goodbye...

Hmmm, well my full thoughts on the less important things:

    - new map looks nice
-new executes: a little over the top “trying to be cool” for a couple but overall glad they’re not total jokes and most look pretty cool
    - new weapons: too much gold, again but....
-new skins library is awesome. And the fact that we can finally change the look of a weapon to be an old and rustic rare version as a legendary is awesome as well. serious cudos on this update.
    -new outfits are meh...

Now unless I’m missing any other minor things, the major things:

-pk rework: she feels quite the same but just has the “shaman bleed” trick. She’s just a little more aggressive. Bleed stack sounds much more dangerous, but I don’t see pk mains playing THAT much different, just really one more thing to be wary of now when playing against her. Damage tone down was a good call especially with bleed stacking now.

    - orochi rework: overall I like the changes, though it seems every “hot fix” is to give all the characters very fast attacks, armor or Ub. Admittedly if anyone needed faster attacks it was orochi, and the trade off on damage reduction, despite that it could be more, makes it alright on paper. I’ll have to elaborate when I actually face an orochi though. Riptide being light was a good change, as far as his counter attack, I like that it can change stance while still being held, the timing in my opinion for at least sides should be the same, but it being all different is not the end of the world. What worries me is “undodgeable” on top version. It could be fine really, but at the moment it sounds like one of those rare moments “we made an exception to basic mechanics” type deals. As a HL player I can kiss my aggressiveness goodbye. If I can’t dodge they’re leap attack I can’t stay in OS and that argument aside it just feels like a cheapening of mechanics. Just a concern I have, it could be totally fine and of course blocking and parrying is an option but it’s a type of attack I’ve always felt shouldn’t be a thing. The game has and should always maintain its Rock Paper Scissors mechanics. Long story short the only counters to dodge should be certain soft fients and GB regardless of how fine the move is considered. Again, could play out and be nothing, but it’s something I find concerning. All other changes sound great though.

    - I was very disappointed that valk wasn’t on this list. She is definitely the worst case character right now. Her moves are 1. Locked in when they can happen so very predictable and 2. Very punishable. Her heavies are super slow, her lights are fine but the lack of actually viable mix-ups and cancels are saddening. Orochi was a good call for rework and handled well I think, but PK shouldn’t have taken priority in my opinion. It feels like they are like “hey we have that mechanic with shaman already! Let’s slap it on PK and call it a rework instead of reworking a character that’s actually in bad shape so we can do less work for more reward!!” It’s a decent rework for what she needs but it feels half-assed and rushed if I’m being honest. Valk, warden, Raider, warlord, Shugoki, And aramusha need more attention than Pk. Really just feels like they ran out of time and just slapped the ol’ Shaman bleed cancel on, hype it up and called it a day so they can do the minimum work while keeping less informed people interested thinking that they’re getting a real good change for their hero. It’s the only disappointment I see. It’s not even a bad “rework”, much to the contrary, but the principle of reworking characters that aren’t really needed as much is saddening. Don’t get me wrong, I’m GLAD they’re looking at all characters, but there’s obviously a reason for character rework: because they are seriously lacking, and PK is not one of these characters and thus as an expectation should be on the back burner.
